I know the tone in this thread has been more on the lighthearted side, but man, this still hurts.  As soon as Art left MITD, I knew and came to terms with the fact that we'd never hear him broadcast live again; but knowing that voice on the other side of the radio all of those nights is no longer on this earth really sucks.  Unfortunately it wasn't a huge surprise when the news of his passing broke, but after years(and years, and years) of entertaining us- I really wish he could've enjoyed a final retirement and flown his drones around Pahrump a little longer.

Tonight, while I was taking a shower, it hit me... and I began thinking about all of Art's "lasts"...

The last time he took a shower.

The last meal he ate.

The last phone call he was on.

The last time he said "I love you."

The last time someone told him "I love you."

I'm not saying it is good but I sorta hope it was a last drag, and this time, on something like an unfiltered Camel. Kids, don't smoke but I hope he got one last fast-blast, considering his likes.

Get the dude you "know" up in the great Inland Empire to figure out what happened up there to Piper in that hotel room. Suspicious.

Let's all just take a moment to realize that Art went from "West Coast AM" with a handful of affiliates to nearly a thousand in the span of a decade, quit multiple times, then in the end his legacy is left with a former phone sex operator broadcasting out of a bunker to 45 people. Kinda makes you think about how much of life is just a dark comedy.

It's little details like that that make me think she really is his daughter. Somebody infatuated would be more effusive, but you usually don't go overboard in praising a relative. And he usually didn't, preferring to emphasise that she was improving.

The glass half full view of Art's passing is the inevitable meltdown and infighting from the people that surrounded the man.  How long before Art's widow sues his side piece?

Some liberal rag "obituary" indicated that Art was the father of paranormal exploration but  "gave rise to alt-right conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones"  Obviously never listened to Art or read any of his books.  Progs have zero to offer IMO except zero logic and nastiness--can't even do an obituary without inserting their propaganda, evidently.  I listened to one of Art's MIB shows It's amazing how quick he  is with the listeners calling in. Jones has no cohesive thoughts IMO and his website is an unappealing mess like a teenager's bedroom.

I used to listen more often, but now can only listen to Jones in small doses, he’s kind of the gateway drug to the more substantive shows in the genre.  That raspy voice and constant hyperactivity, and the fact that when he has guests on he might as well be interviewing himself since he constantly interrupts.  Like others have said, Rense is better, though also is hard to listen to sometimes if for no other reason than how unrelentingly dark the tone of his show is.

What Art had that most if not all of today’s popular radio shows are missing is an open mind.  These days it seems like all radio hosts want to spoon feed you what you are supposed to believe.
