The Artbell.com page freezes at Incoming message. Is that just me, or everyone else have same issue?

Yes, it's just a graphic meant to tease.

EDIT: I wish he could put a countdown clock on the site though until the announcement...

Love your idea.

Foodlion

I soon came to that thought as well. It's more like a countdown meter.

SR-71

I hope that Art Bell comes back soon because I can not stand Captain Noory, Commander Wells, Ensign Alex Jones.

If Art doesn't want high expectations, he's going about this all wrong.

Shockwave

I checked out the source code of the site and it is java script.. so I think it might be "loading" til it gets closer to the announcement...

Until now

I am staring so hard at the loading bar that if I look away I still see it  :o

Where's Noory?

Is J.C. going to be Art's first caller???

popple

Captain Noory is most likely getting ready to poop his pants because Art Bell is coming. I guess that Pvt. Fort Rock is going to clean up the poop that his fearful leader Captain Noory.

I have gone one step further and put a little sticky note on my screen as to where it stopped, I waiting to see if it surpasses the yellow post-it

I'm the last person to say Art isn't relevant, can't reboot, etc etc, but...

Part of the appeal, I think, was the nature of our culture, media, etc back in the early to mid-90s. Paranormal stuff was way the f!ck out there beyond most folks' orbits. I remember back in the very early 90s, had a modem slower than 2400 baud, downloading alien images from either AOL or Compuserve (so long ago AOL was a Mac-only service). People didn't know what the net was, or what the hell those elongated alien skulls were from Peru. There was a complete vacuum for anything paranormal, esoteric etc.

Throw in Clinton-fatigue -- great economy juxtaposed against things like Waco and I think there was an atmosphere for people to question things. WTF is going on here? Below the surface? We were just getting hammered with blow jobs and balanced budgets, it was insane

Toss in a segment of audience like long haul truckers. Guys generally deemed as dumb but are anything but -- these guys have nothing to do but think.

So here you are in the middle of the night, feeling disconnected inside this vacuum, and some cat out of Nye county is talking black triangles. And he has the voice of God.

Things seem almost flipped out now; we're over-saturated. The days of me spending 20 minutes to download a 100k jpeg of an alien skull seems adorably innocent now. But hey, I was 22 then, that was pretty out there stuff.

I think the one thing working in Art's favor in this over-saturated culture vs. the vacuum he thrived in is depth. Look at the desultory skimming George does with his musings on quasi-esoterica bullshit. And it's not just Snoory, it's virtually everyone in the media. Everything delivered in bite-size nuggets. Like pizza rolls (sorry George).

Young people are especially underestimated, I think... guys my age assume the younger generation has their collective heads up Instagram's orifice. I think young people will hear Art for the first time and have that same epiphany we all did 15, 20 years ago. At least I hope.

I didn't say Alex would or could take down Art. Not even close. I said that I don't put it past him and Noory to make the attempt.

I wouldn't put it past Jones or 'good guy' Noory either. Time will tell...

Every night when Noodles listens to "The Chase" at the start of the show he will be thinking that Art is a ridin' that train, coming his way.

c2c is gradually moving more and more away from the paranormal topics (and Snoory doesn't present them well since he quite obviously has no interest in them).

Are you kidding? Do I need to remind you (for the ten-thousandth time) of his aunt Shafika Carigula?

My favorite sequence from that film has always been the flowers blooming upon Arthur's return ride, while O Fortuna plays in the background.

And Helen Mirren's Morgana killed it.

Soundtrack gives me goosebumps every time.

lonevoice

Holy crap.  He's starting early today.  I agree with whoever said a formal announcement is coming on Monday.  Then I guess the launch day of the first show will be the overnight hours of 8/1-8/2.

I'm so excited.....wasn't that also a song Art played frequently?

Fly By Night

Art, you're like a hot date  on prom night. We have paid for the limo, dinner, danced to ABBA all night and now we want action and you are just teasing. Let's just do this!!!!

popple

I'm enjoying this "tease" though  ;D

For anyone looking for all the Art bumper music,  gandalf50 has by far the largest collection stored on his cloud that I've seen anywhere.   I haven't counted, but there could be at least a couple hundred songs all alphabetized by artist.  It looks like every song that was ever played on Art's C2C.

Not quite every song. For those who want, the bumper music share is now public. http://bit.ly/16bZ27c
Never quite understood Abba's popularity  :o
Enjoy.

tomveil1977

)))) Bows to Gandalf50 for his share ((((
