I thought Art made it quite clear that, based on previous experiences, he didn't want to be inconvenienced by having security personnel at his place protecting his family.  The only thing new in Heat's proposal is the security personnel would be providing their service free of charge.  Also not sure what qualifications Heather has relative to vetting security personnel.

Rest assured that those qualifications are at least as good as for being a radio show host. She'd never done that before either and look how that has turned out.

While I enjoy your posts when you are here- your request is likely to go unfulfilled.  You have 6 pages of posts in your three year history.  You may like or not like "theone" or others you would likely want to see banned- but that poster (specifically) has contributed 26 pages of content in a month.

You can argue that it is all shit content- but the world runs on content production- and you are not there to take up the slack (though you may contribute a few posts in 6 months when you feel that you can stomach this place again- for a week.)

Perhaps it would be a valid point to say that other posters who contribute more are turned off by some of the newer posters- maybe you could make that argument.  However, asking him to clean it up and ban those providing content and views so that you feel better about contributing a few posts a year does not make much $en$e.

Some of these pages are >95% ignored posters at this point, but there are still two problems:  people keep quoting them, and most of the smart members have given up entirely because it's impossible to have a lively conversation when Timmy's choking on his nut sack again.

Very true. I go away often for several days and always feel better for it. Then I sneak back to check the temperature.  Sometimes I stay often I sneak right back out again

I wonder how it balances out financially for MV to have more trolls but fewer regulars

But may of the "fans" will have to look in the mirror.  There was an awful lot of negativity even before the influx of new members.  I would argue that "we" (the long time members") killed the site.  It may be on life support after the recent retirement- but lots of members contributed to the beating that put it there.  Now people are arguing over who gets to pull the plug- and most of the members / contributors have long since stepped out of the room and have washed their hands of the responsibility of that decision (though I suppose they will complain when the heart stops.)

I met someone in a class I was taking whom I chatted with frequently since we were grouped up together. He was a nice enough person but he had a habit of repeating himself. Funny thing was, he said he was a 4channer. I had a vague idea of what 4chan was back then but now I definitely see the similarity between him and our 4channers here. They tend to repeat themselves

I'm one of the loudest critics on here. I think Art Bell is a complete narcissistic con-man who just pissed all over his fans. And Girl Falkie/Noory is an utter disaster. It was fun to pull apart all their bullshit and watch the ship go down. It was fun to poke at the cult mentality on this site and milk the various lolcows on here. But even I don't get what the people who spend all their time trolling on here are getting out of it anymore.

There's not really a body to feed on anymore. Art sucks, Heather sucks and things aren't going to get better. Until the ship officially sinks or Art decides he wants to start acting retarded on the internet again, there's really nothing new or interesting to talk about anymore.

Heather isn't even interesting to troll like Noory is because it's like kicking a baby. There's no challenge or artistry to that.

Exactly, plus Art lost all his credibility with his hypocrisy and came off looking horrible. A lot of people with critical thinking skills left leaving only those addicted to BellGab, those who want to gain something from Art and old people who are obsessed with Art. Those fall into the pros and cons.

If Art fades into irrelevance, it will be because he opts to do so and done on his own terms.  When he finally decides he has no further use of his hardcore followers to do his bidding (promoting/paying for whatever project he thinks he wants to pursue) he will disappear.  In the meantime he'll do what he's done for years, string his followers along with an occasional forum/social media post, radio interview, or other method to keep attention.  Also keep in mind he apparently believes there is no such thing as bad publicity in this stategy, this gives him the freedom to go off half cocked threatening to do damn near anything (leaving for good, filing suit, shutting down social media accounts etc) and then just change his mind like nothing happened.  I think in his mind, he can follow this script for as long as he wishes.

As for Heather and MITD, Art has put himself into the enviable position of authority, but no responsibility.  Remember, he selected her but he has no financial or managerial stake in her employer/employment. If she succeeds, he gets credit for seeing her potential and getting her on the air.  If she and/or DMDN goes belly up, not his fault since he neither owns/employes anything/anyone associated the failure.

Good observation on the authority/responsibility aspect. Of course, people rarely escape being held responsible by somebody eventually. In this case, Keith, Heather and/or many thousands of Art's fans.

Interesting observation... Interesting that I had spent quite awhile in the "sucks" thread before Art came back on XM without even considering that aspect (I really could not bear to listen to Coast after that- even if it was for a laugh.)

I really had not considered it as everybody was pretty much in agreement- Noory sucks.  It almost does not feel like trolling unless you decide to go against the grain and defend what Coast became... But I suppose there were very strong elements n that thread (as well as the rest of the site.)
