Just received it in the mail yesterday.  If I can't listen to Art, I'm going to read his books.  If I have time.  I barely have the ability to read my favorite author's books..

While this may not be the greatest analogy, addicts and alcoholics don't get a thrill from how their behavior affects their loved ones.  They, too, probably hate themselves.  But it's not easy to stop.

I thought it was a good post about his alcoholic uncle.  But it's obviously inapplicable to Art's situation:  Art is not an alcoholic, he's taken responsibility for his hasty words two weeks ago, and he's actually being stalked by one or more freaks.

It's just one specious parallel after another, and I can understand people being sick of it.  God knows I am.  You'd think they were handling out Armchair Psychology degrees around here, with all the shitty psychoanalysis flying around this thread lately.

He does take responsibility, and I think back to my (perhaps bad) analogy, I think many times, addicts and alcoholics have those moments where they can see clearly. 

I don't think Art likes this situation at all.  But he also knows it's hard to step out of it.. we have to make the best out of a bad situation, and for him, that means promotion of the show, and of Heather.  I don't think he needs to repeatedly come here to make apologies or excuses for his behavior.  Many of the posters would have you believe he should, but then when he does, they throw it in his face.

In THAT case- I Didnt win. He was able to u load a company before charges could come down for contract breach- long story. The publicity didnt help though even though It was a clear loss for me. Its a long story- Regardless- I was bested because he offloaded the company during a holiday weekend or he might be in prison now.

That was personal- This isnt...Until Art sends his goons to find out my real name. To do what? Now it seems quite personal to me. Would you think it was if you were in my shoes?

I'm sad for whatever happened with his son, and recall hearing Art mention it briefly after his "retirement" at the time.  Of course it makes you want to know more, perhaps.. more out of concern from fans, as opposed to a need to be nosy (let's hope). However, I don't think he was giving us permission to go hunt down legal documents regarding the case, to challenge anyone's story. 

Anyone in the public domain is going to expect that the public will learn more about their private lives than they could ever imagine.  It's not necessarily "right", but it's a given.  But that doesn't mean the public deserves to learn about things like this, or about why his marriages went bad, or anything else.  We don't have a right to know.  Millions of people experience the same things he and his family have, and they have as much a right to their privacy regarding those matters as anyone else.  (He's not running for office or even the police force. He's running a radio show).
