I'm not even saying Art on the show is a bad idea, I just think it's a steaming pile of unfunny.

The Sheldon, Leonard, and Penny and their interactions are funny, although the rest of the cast can suck mightily.  The show could use a few more good writers, but when the 3 main characters are onscreen it's usually pretty good (certainly when compared to the other popular 'comedies' out there).

It's the most painfully unfunny show on TV. But if they're paying, sure. Lol yourself.

Heretic!!! You should be taken into a field and tied to a cow pat..Oh yes. BBT is brilliant, on every level. No ifs, no buts.

Another candidate for the cow pat punishment; it's ALL brilliant. No-one sucks, and it's brilliant.

Agree.  I doubt few folks who find this show funny ever had to go to school or work with this kinda people.

It's why it works; it parody's the very people it represents. Scientists contribute to the script, so they have to have a sense of humour.

Come on Pud, you live in a country where Rowan Atkinson and Benny Hill are considered comedic geniuses. ;)

I don't even watch it but it's all about getting the word out.

I didn't rate Benny Hill, Rowan Atkinson I think is very good. I'm more of a Goons, Monty Python comedy fan-although Rowan Atkinson in Not the nine o'clock new in the 80's nodded somewhat to Python. As did the Fast Show, which was brilliantly acted.

Absolutely, which was the point Bateman made and I agreed with.  Hell, if pro wrestling was as hot as it was back in the mid/late 80s, I'd recommend Art take a gig at Wrestlemania as a special guest referee.

This is a great idea. Much better then going to a baseball game.

Never seen it (if the show isn't on Retro, MeTV, or PBS I likely haven't watched it) but I hear it is popular so it could only help Art and RCH. Too bad someone like Dick Cavett isn't around because an interview show might be interesting with Art and get the word out. I also putting out a free show (or a portion of show) out on youtube and into the torrent universe is a great idea.

"Doctor in the House" is still my favorite Britcom.

I don't really watch it, but at least it beats Two and a Half Men.  I miss the days of good sitcoms on TV.

Hey, maybe Sheldon can see a UFO and question his entire belief structure, and Art can come on and help him restore his confidence.

Cringe inducing.

How BBT gets ratings while Parks and Rec struggled for seven years, I'll never know.

I was thinking along the same lines....but my ending has Sheldon listening to an Art Bell show and getting the *&*^^^ scared out of him.

Having to appeal to the greatest amount of people at once can take a toll on quality.

I know people who laugh out loud while watching Big Bang, but I've never seen the hilarity in it.

Eddie Coyle

If this show gets revived, Art could diversify his audience instantly.

David Darling tonight.....awesome.

Have you ever seen "The Big Train," the UK sketch show from about fifteen years ago?  I learned about it from seeing a hilarious bit that was posted somewhere about George Martin being kidnapped, and there are some great clips from it on YouTube.

Benny Hill never did much for me.  It seemed that his shows consisted mostly of old men leering and goggling at women with grotesquely gargantuan endowments and wearing silly costumes while racing around in fast motion to "Yakkety Sax."  And while I appreciate Rowan Atkinson's talent for expressive physical comedy, Mr. Bean appeals to me about as much as a Marmite sundae.

Yes, but imagine how much better the entire show would be if they fired all of them and brought on Hoagie as their science advisor! 19.5 million more views guaranteed 8)

Agreed. Anytime an actor gets paid, I am glad for them. But that comedy, for me, isn't.

I stopped watching the latest sitcoms when Seinfeld ended.  I knew my generation had dropped from mainstream Hollywood when Friends came on.  Yuk.

Now I'm back to watching the old stuff, like Andy Griffith, the Barney Fife episodes, and reruns of Seinfeld, especially the ones that played on Kramer.  Nothing beats good actors/comediennes and great writing.
