I love this anti-humanist narrative of mankind sucking that's built up over the last decade particularly. We create the only advanced civilization known to exist in this vast universe and everyone's brainwashed themselves over the last two decades to think it inherently sucks. But, fact is, god himself could show up, paint himself green and fart on Noory while singing "I created you to suck, na na na" and it wouldn't be as astounding as what we've built on this world.

Don't believe me? Point out another species that's done it and let's compare. Oh! We haven't found any! Even on earth, among 8.7 million species, we're the only ones that can build a toaster or cure our own diseases.

Mars would be lucky to have us. As it stands right now, it's a big dead rock that will sit around doing nothing until the sun incinerates it in a few billion years. Seems like a big waste of real estate. Colonize that bitch, and do it fast.

The descriptions of the food in the book are hillarious.  It's like someone who heard coast twice is making up ways to enjoy the recipies in George's words.  There are stories of George suggesting you warm up some curry chicken as a way to drift off to coast or something.

i only flipped through it but I wouldn't be surprised.  Lots of bullshit in there that George never ate, as much as cooked. 

I'm driving home from NYC tomorrow night and the store is in coastal CT.  I can hit it on my way home if I get there before 9pm when they close
