He was a Navy diver; not a "frogman".  He let slip last night that he worked on the construction of the Diego Garcia base, indicating he was a construction diver working with SeaBees. He was a never a SEAL, as kiss-ass Noory called him, and as he tried to pass himself off for years.

My father-in-law was a real combat frogman in WWII; sent in to blow up beach obstacles before Marine landings the Pacific with only flippers and a face mask, so I have no patience for Ventura's history of phony self-promoting inferences.  The day he interrupts someone calling him an ex-SEAL and says "No! Don't confuse my construction diver job with what those guys do." Being a Navy diver is a tough and dangerous job, no need to puff himself up further.

Cool my Father was sailor on the LST transport (Mighty Midget) ship that took frogmen close to the enemy beach and let them off in a rubber raft. Only weapon those guys brought along was a knife. He has in awe of their bravery!

Besides transporting the Frogmen, the LSTs would  come in close to shore and machine gun and rocket attack reinforced positions before the troops landed.

There were very few LSTs that were specially trained to transport Frogmen before an invasion.
So who knows.... small world thingie

I wonder what Evelyn Paglini's doctorate is in? I've been poking around on the Internet and still haven't found out. Most of the hits seem to be either her own site or coast to coast or coastgab. She doesn't have a Wikipedia entry.
Since she has just died, I will try to refrain from saying anything nasty, but I will say that I was terribly disappointed a couple of years when she gushed about how wonderful Occupy Wall Street was. It was amusing when juxtaposed with an astrologer( don't remember his name) around the same time who was unimpressed with the Occupy movement, and said why. I could tell that George wasn't expecting that.

I think it was parapsychology from a university in Texas.  That's where she was recognized as an expert witness in court.  I got bored as well and went looking for an obituary and didn't see anything.

Evelyn Paglini RIP
March 31, 2014
Dr. Evelyn Paglini, beloved long-time Coast to Coast AM guest, has passed away. She was well respected as one of the leading authorities on the occult and the supernatural in the United States. She died of heart failure on Saturday 3/29/14 in Los Angeles. Arrangements will be limited to immediate family. We will be paying tribute to the late Dr. Paglini this Friday night on the radio show, as well as with these two free audio clips

Is there any validity to the stuff this guest is saying? That you need to be at least 3 feet away from a microwave oven when it's on? I have a small kitchen. George believes his sisters brain cancer was caused by a mobile device.

I hope RCH plays his host C2C card and spends the entire night pimping "underlying insanity" a new show on DMN hosted by himself.

Yeah she was supposed to gravely ill, death being immanent. She's still around and george used visiting her as the reason he missed open lines the Friday after having Oates on.

Something like 5 years ago. I really wish her well, but I hope jorch isn't lieing.

I don't know but I've got a pretty old micro and suspect that thing probably leaks some kind of waves that I prefer not to encounter point blank, so I try and stand a couple feet a way no matter how impatient I am for my midnight quesadilla.

It was caused by the sound of Noory's voice

Whoever the caller dude is that just tore Ball and sNooron a new one, hats off.  Everything he said about the sNooron is the truth.  Well played, sir.

No April fools bit from George…yet.  He says he'll do a tribute to Evelyn Paglini on Friday.  Prepare for another lame uninspiring memorial.  Jerome Corsi on the basket case North Koreans.  James Sanders on the still missing airliner.  Martin Blank on how cellphones zap the brain.  Like anybody cares.  Is Tim Ball the only anti-consensus global warming guy in George's rolodex?  And why did George act surprised when Ball said he was being sued by someone?  He's been on a million times.  Everybody knows Ball is being sued by someone.  Cut the crap, George.  Suck if you want to, but cut the mindless crap.  After a Schrader/Knapp/Knapp weekend, George delivers crap.

Another classhic, skip-out Friday for Jorch.  I really hate to see anybody's tribute end with a playing of UFO Phil.

So Snoory didn't do an April Foolsh bit saying that he was "retiring" from Coast so he could dedicate his time to a show about people addicted to sucking mothballs?

Darn.

That's a good question.  Microwaves do use radiation that could be harmful.  The early microwave ovens were very heavy, in large part because of shielding.  New microwaves are now much less expensive, and much less heavy.  I don't know if testing showed less shielding is just as safe, but I would be afraid that the more cheaply made new ovens would be more prone to leak.  Perhaps a test would be to place a small glass of water outside the oven door and see if it warms up while the microwave is operating.

I believe the research that says no, unless you walk around with a phone to your ear all day like so many kids.  Years ago, you could always tell when the microwave in the kitchen was on from the loud interference on radio/TV audio.  That's now gone, so I figure shielding is much better (at both ends though).  I doubt that the puny batteries in phones produce enough RF energy to be a hazard.

The ambient microwave energy level that we're bathed in is, however, rising constantly.  When I look at my computer's network menu, I see six wi-fi networks active from neighbors, plus there's the constant cell phone energy from several carriers' towers, plus Lord knows how many Bluetooth transmitters.  At some point it may become a health issue.  Maybe the tinfoil hat crowd will end up getting the last laugh.

yumyumtree

Mine was purchased in 1989, and cost over $200, not because its big or fancy, but because that's what they cost then. I do get radio interference with it.

I've always disapproved of the anti-microwave oven crusaders because I think that the ovens are a great boon for elderly and disabled people, children, college students and others who otherwise might have a hard time getting hot, balanced meals. Look what it's done for employee breakrooms( now if they could make them self-cleaning). I always wonder if these people really think through this stuff before telling others what to do. In a perfect world every child would have a parent at home to cook them a balanced meal on a conventional stove. In the real world a lot of little kids have to rustle their own meals, and I think the microwave is safer in terms of kitchen accidents.

Speaking of pronouncements that may not have taken reality into consideration, I heard on the news this morning that they can now say that vaccinations have 0% influence on autism. It will be interesting to see if George covers this in his news blurb segment. I'm sure he will, but with his own spin. I wonder what Jenny McCarthy will do now.

Yep. I expect another typical Noory 'tribute' where he just plays an hour from an old past interview while he can goof off or split early on a Friday night.  :P

I think the only way George will be off the air is if a giant earthquake knocks down the transmission towers.
