Thanks again linden! Curious if you're going to keep the stream up after arts return?

dogsma

Much gratitude...I downloaded SHOUTcast, so easy an idiot (me) can do it.  Life is good again, no more nasty Art withdrawal.   Is he really coming back?

Juan

Just heard what must have been the first JC call.  He ranted and raved, but Art didn't call him by name nor seem to recognize his voice.  At the time, JC and God were working on a new bunch of commandments, including, to Art's chagrin, no listening to rock 'n roll music.

With Art returning, I think the noble thing to do is take the stream back down. It's time to get Sirius.

poprocksncoke

Will you be waiting to take it down until September 16?

I respectfully disagree. The stream is akin to the newly restored historical section of two. It reminds us of what was and where we were. Compared to what is. Without it some may never have realized just how bad a lot of talk radio had become (and bad Noory is at his job).

I urge you to leave it up please. Pearls in a radio wasteland.

At least keep stream up until the new show. Maybe stream his most famous shows  right before launch Area 51 fly over, madman time traveler, prediction shows, ghost 2ghost shows, etc. be a lot of fun until the new show.

MV/Liberace!

the assumption here is that your art bell stream cannibalizes art's business pursuits with siriusXM, and i don't think that's the case.  if anything, i think your stream acts as a nice promotional vehicle for art's new show.  furthermore, art doesn't own those shows, so you're sticking it to premiere by airing them, not sticking it to art.  he's probably thrilled people are doing this.

I don't think Art's old shows will stop people from checking out his new stuff. The classics are classics and I'll always revisit them, but I'm not going to miss out on some new shows! I'm excited to hear his opinion on current events etc.

i wonder what PremRat will do after Sept - will they continue to play classic Art Bell: Somewhere in Time on Saturdays?

Morgus

I hope someone will also make a new free internet stream that plays the Sirius/XM channel show in near real-time too...

The shows will all be available soon, time permitting. Just not streamed. I don't need another love letter from queer channel.

Really think the stream helps art right now. it gets people excited for his return.

The 10 people listening to the stream aren't going to help or hurt Art.  The point is, we've got new Art on the way and the old Art will still be around in one form or another.

Thank you, Linden!  :)

Linden.  The stream is sooper dooper extra freaking awesome today.

jazmunda

I think it would be a shame for the stream to go and also think it could only be a benefit to Art and his new show by highlighting how freaking awesome he is.

Anyway having said that I understand your concerns especially in regard to Clear Channel so thank you for all the hours of Art enjoyment.

The glitch that wasn't letting me view the site & post seems to be fixed.

Art is really coming back ?

I'd like to thank the Fine Art guys for presenting all the great old AB shows. It made life bearable when I was really sick. I'm a lot better due to taking 3 months worth of antibiotics and I've lost 12 pounds. Also, NO George Noory listening during much of that time too which helped. I tried to listen to the maroon but ofttimes could only literally take the first bad comment and " poof " off went the radio.

If Art's really coming back, that's FANTASTIC  news. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I hope someone doesn't assume I'm dead when my googly eyes are still lolling about!

I'm listening to a classic Art Bell show with Hoagland from 7/4/1997 right now on the stream and I recognized the voice of a caller who said he was from West Hartford, Conn.
Old Bill the amateur atheist astronomer was calling in to c2c even way back then...
