You're All Just Haters

Here we go again. The guest mentioned that her book received some bad comments and reviews. I can't speak to that, but Noory said that the comments came from "haters", which is an insult that no one older than sixteen should use BTW. Judging by his tone of voice when he made that statement, he obviously thinks that hate is the only reason that someone would give *him* a bad review. That's weak. Most of our criticisms have nothing to do with being "haters". There are 1,001 reasons for them, but hate isn't one of them (in most cases). You know, it's much easier to blame criticism on hate than it is to honestly examine one's poor performance as a radio talk show host and make improvements, so denial is not the best direction to take.

Noory: "A small group of people hate their lives, so they attack you and me. They're hatemongers. They have no lives. I don't even care what they say." (paraphrasing)

It's funny. People don't seem to have as many problems with Knapp and the other hosts. In fact, they would prefer anybody over the current host. In this specific case, there are no coincidences.

After Noory's speech, a couple callers heaped praise on him. One mentioned how nice and polite he was, which means that he didn't read the section of Noory's book where he cursed his rivals. When was the last time that a critic made it on the air? The emperor knows that he's nude, and anyone, who sees it, won't make it on the air.

I don't hate Noory, in fact I could give less than a damn about him, but I hate the fact that he's screwed up the show and continues to do it night in and night out.  Overall he seems like your average shmoe that you could run into if you shopped at Sears.  No reason to hate that guy.

Who is it that makes performance criticism personal?

What type of person makes everything personal?

He interrupts guests with ludicrous personal comments which throw the conversation off, like a dufus who doesn't even realize that a conversation about EMP's in which a guest quotes a person from Detroit is NOT an invitation for him to derail the topic into talking about his childhood!

Yes, he is uneducated and doesn't understand the three types of conversation and which one is "GOOD".

Also, he is a narcissist and puzzled by the reactions of people around him due to the attendant lack of social skills that a lifetime of living as the "sun" in a solar system where he is the life-giving Worker in the Light.

Of course we have no legitimate comments to make because we don't circle around him like the adoring planets who are paid to call him and kiss his ass.

I just got a mental image of Flavor Flave doing ads for gold. "Buy some bling for the End Times, boy-yee!"

I don't think even Flav has sunk to that level yet! He's Viacom's Stepin Fetchit, not Goldline's...but it's definitely in the realm of possibility.

I couldn't agree more. I wish the best for him and his family. I just want a competent host, and it's obvious that I'm SOL with him at the helm. He's gotten *worse* with experience!

Well, I'm sure that Pelosi and Reid might be good for a few jokes. Obama made some gaffes that are ripe for parody too. You just won't find them on mainstream programs. That said, there's no doubt that Bush was a disaster in more ways than one. JMO

Thank you! This kind of thing has gotten worse during the past month or so. Kevin Randle was an emergency guest on Monday after Jesse cancelled, and he did his thing on Roswell, etc.. What did Noory bring up during the conversation? He talked about how much he dug science fiction movies when he was a tyke in the Motor City. Who wants to hear that? I buried my head in my hands. The OT chitchat and small talk are getting out of hand too.

Several years ago George was interviewing Hal Lindsey the author of the best selling book of the seventies "The Late Great Planet Earth". Mr Lindsey was describing at great length what he believed would bring about Armegedon and the ultimate end of the world as we know it. Once during Mr Lindsey's talking George actually tried interupting him with a question which to Mr. Lindsey's credit he ignored and continued his thoughts. As soon as Mr. Lindsey ended his last words George blew in with a completely irrelevent question that even Hal chuckled at. Hate George ... no. But I wish he'd take a clue from Art ... and listen to his own guest like we try to.

Look, all ya'll haters need to back off George Noory.  He is my inspiration and my only friend.  He is my Oprah of the Night.  When he speaks what you claim to be inanities and chit-chat, I call them endearing insights that help me understand my mentor.  George watched science fiction movies?  I love watching my recorded VHS tapes of Baywatch Nights.  He lived in Detroit?  I'm an unemployable slob.  He's so relatable!  He GETS me.

Time to go take my turmeric pills.

Actually he lived in Dearborn Heights which was a very 'white bread' area. It's nothing like Detroit. Altho it has gone downhill the past few years.

It wouldn't surprise me if he says Detroit in hopes of people thinking he has some 'street cred' or other such nonsense.

Isn't that sort of a trick question?  Who really lives in Detroit proper?

That's the impression I get from it.  He's lived a hard-knocks life, just like me.  Kick me and George down, we'll get right up and keep on fightin'.  George is a lover and a fighter!  George Noory 4eva!

Ya know this is a good point. Even people who live in the city limits of Detroit will refer to their neighborhood name IE, Chalmers, Woodbridge whatever the case may be.

But Dearborn & Dearborn Heights is a world away from Detroit in terms of just about everything.

It's likely that Noory shares certain beliefs with people like Hal Lindsey and Bob Larson. He believes in End Times, and he's obsessed with demons. The main difference is that George is a New Age fundamentalist too. That belief system is anathema to many conservative Christians.

It looks like Noory wrote eighteen reviews. Maybe he paid other people to write thirteen.

It's more like white bread mixed with pita bread. It has a fairly large Middle Eastern population.

I'm sorry. I should have explained what I meant when I wrote that he cursed his rivals. I wrongly assumed that everybody knew about his creepy and scary dabblings in black magic. He saw a cute girl in a bar, but there were some male "lowlifes" (in his *adult* mind) standing around her. They met with tragic events after he supposedly cast a spell on them, and he also supposedly destroyed the girl's self esteem so that she would feel miserable enough to date him. I *wish* that I was kidding! I won't paraphrase what he (ahem) wrote; I'll write a verbatim quote from his book.

"I was alone with her in a circle of ruin that I had created around her. The negative thoughts I had projected to destroy the competiton and demoralize the young woman had worked."

So much for working in the "light" . . . unless he means that weird reddish glow that emanates from his rival-hating, non-Ouija-board-using eyes when he meets a woman who tickles his portal.

it's not a portal anymore, now it's a 'circle of ruin'  :o

Noory Voice: "I think that drunks are possessed. Look at their red eyes." (close to actual quote)

Actually think I remember hearing this one back in the day.

I think that demons are drunk. Look at their red eyes.
