Nobody questions Wilson was a brilliant man. Whether he was a good PM or not is a matter of opinion.

Of course he was brilliant..he was a Yorkshireman. :o

I don't know enough about the man to form an opinion about his intelligence. Some of the British bands of the era that I follow didn't seem to care much for him.  But what the fuck, they are just entertainers and should stick to playing songs rather than making political commentary. lol.

The bands didn't care for him because they were being soaked for the high tax band..From memory it was something like 90%. Hence why the Stones and Beatles stayed out of the UK for as long as they could.

This thread has taken a decidedly British turn.

Not always a bad thing. Who better to celebrate the British working class than Sir Benny Hill.

Funny you say that...I would have had more respect for Cruz and Ryan if they'd both taken Trump out for the comments he made about their wives. I know why they didn't, because politically it would have been suicide and likely arrest.
Yeah, but worse has been said about candidates and their family in our history. It was a weird election.

Remember we had one candidate, a surgeon, who was frustrated that people DIDN'T believe him when he said he attacked his mom with a hammer and also tried to stab a friend.

That, way more so than Trump, was the most bizarre, surreal part of the campaign. I kept thinking to myself "why would someone WANT people to believe that he attacked his mother with a hammer and tried to stab a friend? Especially when running for office? This is frigging crazy."

... Then you elect a coffee coloured guy and half the country has a collective conniption...

Yeah, that's why.  It had nothing to do with his racist church, his racist pastor, and his racist associates, which preshadowed his racial divisiveness.  Nothing at all to do with his world view, which preshadowed his contempt for our allies, his blind eye towards the moves being made by our enemies, and his lousy deals with Iran and Cuba.  Nothing at all to do with him coming out of the corrupt Daley Machine in Chicago, preshadowing his criminal behavior, abuse of power, and thumbing his nose at the limits to his office.  Nothing at all to do with his Socialist ideology, preshadowing an obnoxious healthcare law, a record low rate of growth, and an inability to get the country back to work - despite the bar economic growth was measured against being the Great Recession of 2008.

No, it was all because he was ''coffee-colored''.  All his amazing accomplishments across the board have been ignored, which is why his party lost the House, the Senate, the presidency, 13 governorships, and 1000 state legislative seats during his term.

Face it, the guy was and is a zero, a nobody.  He has no positive accomplishments to date.  The only reason he was elected in the first place was due to his ''coffee-colored'' skin.  So stick it - the race baiting doesn't work anymore.

Erm: "I will revisit this issue"

Donald Trump.

Sessions looks a dick now... ;D  It explains why he sent Sessions out to make the announcement, because Trump wasn't convinced how it would be received, and now he knows.

Still, he'll get the wall built, the healthcare bill sorted by October and tax breaks for all by December, or something.

And what does that mean? Revisiting the issue is pretty vague and it was smart of Trump to phrase it that way. Obviously, you've never heard of the good cop/bad cop routine.  ::)

Gee, let's see.  It's not the law, it's Obama and Mrs Clinton ignoring the law.  Except Mrs Clinton didn't win the subsequent election.

Now that we no longer have an administration willing to ignore the law and simply rule by decree, Trump says he's ending this thing - but asks Congres to come up with an alternative and gives them six months to do so.  Sounds reasonable to me, no matter how the ass-hats in the Fake Media want to portray it.

Then, remembering neither the frightened incompetent Speaker, nor the frightened incompetent Senate Majority Leader can be relied on to do anything, he clarifies that if they can't even get that done he'll reconsider.

What is wrong with any of this (other than the House and Senate leadership being useless)?

3OctaveFart

Too much of a pussy to make the announcement himself.

Punts to someone else instead of taking a hands-on role in the matter. (Typical him.)

Crocodile tears about how 'agonizing' the decision was ("I'm a grandfather") when he campaigned on it.

Glad we're in agreement then!

It's no coincidence that the two most vilified and traduced politicians of the last few decades happen to be a woman and a black guy. Obama had to deal right out of the gate with accusations of not being American and trying to bring the country down, when the truth was that he was a cautious centrist who disappointed the left on almost every count. The foreign policy you so revile was a product of that caution.

Perhaps you could avoid accusations of racism if you stopped indulging in childish nicknames ('Berock Obama' FFS) and tried to be vaguely even-handed. Sanders is much more to the left but he gets nowhere near the vitriol, even a modicum of respect. I wonder why? Although I'm sure, if he ran for president, that would be offset somewhat by a 'dirty jew' narrative. Whatever job figures came out would be dismissed as fake (oddly Trump supporters now regard them as gospel), and there would be nothing he did that you couldn't manipulate into a negative.

Bill Clinton isn't really black, and LBJ was a huge pussy, but obviously not a woman. What is wrong with you?
