I love Jake Tapper. He's not afraid to go down the Trump rabbit hole and pull the nonsense into the light of day.

A guy complaining about the farcical nature of a farce he helped create. How ironic. :-\

Internet destroys Rachel Maddow after Trump tax return ‘scoop’ fails miserably

http://www.theblaze.com/news/2017/03/15/internet-destroys-rachel-maddow-after-trump-tax-return-scoop-fails-miserably/

This reaction drives me crazy, and it really shows how f*cked up we are in news gathering. Maddow got a scoop of Trump Tax of 05, and she put it out there and from all accounts it seemed pretty accurate (and not so bad against Trump) and people then mock her for doing so. Isn't that what we want, citizens to have information out there, good or bad?

You guys are so used to just reading right-wing rags that you only get negative news from the last 8-years, even when unemployment goes down and turn around the recession, then just call it fake numbers and report only negative stories (or just make them up). Because heaven forbid given any balance in reporting will let you be labeled as "In the bag for the Dems"

So what the alternative you want her to do, you want her to shelf the story because it wasn't juicy enough?  I am interested in Trump tax returns, no matter what they are, personally I would like more in-depth into the report instead of just toe "top line" numbers but it's better then what we had, and hopefully we can get more (hell we should have had  more recent ones already)

Now if she hyped the story as "earth shattering" than the hype can be criticized, but the actual story I think it was fair.

When someone's head is so far up their own ass it's actually kinda sad. I didn't think it was possible to brainwash people this deeply but here we are.  ::) :D :'(

Damn, those are like my most favorite lines of all time.  We might not agree politically but you have excellent taste.

Thanks 21. The first lines are still pretty pertinent today. I did a shout out to Claude Rains in the Stupid Random thread too  :)

Let's not forget that Maddow went all in on this shit show and hyped it to the hilt beforehand. When delivering this blockbuster news story her affect changed to that of a stunned rodent when she realized that her journalistic coup amounted to three pieces of paper containing mundane and hardly surprising information.  I'm wondering how she'll spin the fact that her best efforts have resulted in a net gain for Trump and a blizzard of ridicule directed at her and MSNBC.

Actually the two pages were posted to Trump's biographer. He told Maddow about them and she discussed them with him. They asked why only two pages, because there should be more. It was opined it could be Trump who posted them. And apparently the WH bleated it was illegal for her to publish tax returns,on her show she pointed out on air she and anyone else in the media was protected by the first amendment.
It did reveal the amount of tax Trump paid that he wouldn't if he (as he wishes to) repealed a certain aspect of the IRS tax law. Trump; the man of the people if you're a billionaire.

Right! You couldn't seem to corner him on any actual crimes (as you've been promising for weeks now) so just convict him of future crimes. Welcome to pud's minority report!  8) ::)

Good to see the GOP protecting those who voted them in. Oh hang on...

A state senator in West Virginia wants to eliminate enforcement of state mining regulations, a move union officials say could set back miners' safety by decades.

Senate Bill 582 was introduced on Saturday by State Sen. Randy Smith. He proposes favoring federal standards over state standards on issues like mine ventilation, fire protection and accident investigations.
The legislation would strip state investigators of their ability to conduct inspections, instead tasking them with "compliance visits and education." If a safety violation is discovered, investigators would issue "compliance assistance visit notices," instead of citations or fines.

A treat, just for you, Sister TigerLily.

President Trump is speaking, right now, in Nashville TN., home of Andrew Jackson.  President Trump gave a short tribute to Jackson. I don't like Jackson.  So, maybe there is a political common ground for us. ;) ;D

Weren't one or both of the Clintonista's Rhodes scholars?
Bill was a Rhodes Scholar. As was his personal attorney David E. Kendall, during the Lewenskyi Affair and impeachment process, and who currently represents Hillary in defense of her illegal server and etc issues. And so was George Stephanopoulos who was Clinton's Communications Director for a campaign and now claims to be an unbiased journalist/reporter. Hillary was not a Rhodes Scholar though.

Trump + Kellyanne = Folie à deux
Microwave spying
I don't know the microwave references but there is this from years ago:
http://www.eetimes.com/document.asp?doc_id=1274748
https://www.wired.com/2012/03/petraeus-tv-remote/
http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_tense/2012/03/19/smart_appliances_could_help_cia_spy_says_petraeus_.html
http://www.nsa.gov/museum/museu00029.cfm
http://abcnews.go.com/Business/household-products-spying/story?id=19974898
And, what is so great is Petreaus was caught just by simple email, which everyone, knew was being spied upon! And he hired David E. Kendall, both of the Clinton's lawyer, for the Lewinsky stuff, Impeachment, and now Hillary illegal private email stuff! But, as the articles/history attest the microwave spectrum (and, of course, various internet or WiFi connected devices) have been used for spying.

Horseshit!  She overreached and fell on her ass.  Your pathetic excuse making is almost as laughable.
