July 8, 2014: great show! Hard to determine who has the more lovely voice, Redacted or ponyboy sunset. The new equipment with its fuller functions as exciting and promises much for GabCast too.

Thank you for your kind words :)

Just catching up now, and dayum does Mumble sound good!

Just wanted to say I had a blast last night and because I read so much of current events and stuff I have all this stuff I want to talk about and I was thinking about doing my own podcast which I hope all of you rip me on.  Just because I grew up Methodist I'm still a Palestinian American.  My dad and family on that side were or are part of the Fatah party so I have stories there, but my main love is comic books, tv shows, and films of all kinds.  Plus I'm really big into politics.  My dad is a political science professor in Gaza.  When I was a kid he would call into Larry King and my mom and I would be in the other room video taping his segments when Larry would talk about the first intifada.  Anyway, I doubt ANYONE will listen but I know my friends on Facebook are tired of me talking in paragraph form about things that annoy me during the day and I post probably 8 times a day.  So a podcast would be a great way to minimize my friends from unfriending and refriending me lol.  But I'm going to start trying to listen and at least hang out live for the Spec Sheet and catching up with Gab Cast now.  And if MV would email me directly I do have an Art Bell story but don't know how to tell it or should I with my current situation.  ANYWAY, love all of you guys and had a blast last night.  Who needs real friends when my real friends are on BellGab.

Oh and I found this site because I listened to MV's Bell Stream and then found this site.  I always hated Noory, but I never knew this site was Noory sucks.  Thank you for reading :)

It really does!

When they were using Skype I thought it was some sort of nerdy tech show, now I realize it is actually called The Spic Sheet and is very anti-Mexican.

Ah! It all makes sense now. This explains why they REFUSED to bring up the Automatic Burrito and the complete lack of Polack jokes.

Damn damn damn. I was hoping to practice my fake outrage.

Saxgod: also check out the "train wreck "podcast in the archives. Hours and hours of entertainment there.

spec sheet fodder:
Over the last couple of days, screenshots that purport to be from an early build of Windows 9 (Threshold) have leaked online. Most notably, one of these screenshots includes the new, resurrected Start menu that Microsoft first showed off at its Build conference in April. Another screenshot shows Metro apps running in a window on the Desktop. The leaked Start menu appears to be physically identical to the one shown off in April, but with a different set of tiles, indicating that the Metro portion of the Windows 9 Start menu will be customizable in the same way as the current Windows 8 Start screen.

saucerlike

I have no horse in this race and am not as tech savvy as everyone else but it is funny watching Microsoft bow to the pressure, at least that's my impression of what's going on here.

they need to give me the option of entirely banishing metro from my computing experience, or it's not enough.  the market has spoken:  nobody wants metro apps on their desktop/laptop computer.  why MS can't fully grasp this, i can't understand.

Well, Korea's LG Display just one upped them in a big way. It has just shown off an 18-inch flexible OLED panel that you can roll up like a newspaper to a radius of just 3 cm and still work. The company also showed off an 18-inch transparent OLED panel, which means those see-thru monitors we keep seeing in sci fi movies may come to pass.

OnePlus One review: Big, fast, cheap, open, efficient, and unlocked
But there's a catchâ€"It's hard as hell to actually buy one.

Cyanogenmod as a pre-installed OS

Rounding out the package is another of the OnePlus’ gifts to Android enthusiasts: CyanogenMod, an open-source alternative fork of the official OS. For some users, CyanogenMod has proven a speedier alternative to getting Android’s latest features than waiting for phone manufacturers and carriers to complete and push their own firmware updates. For others, the insane slew of customization options makes the OS worth rooting phones over.

all your servers are belong to the US

Obama administration says the world’s servers are ours
US says global reach needed to gut "fraudsters," "hackers," and "drug dealers."

Global governments, the tech sector, and scholars are closely following a legal flap in which the US Justice Department claims that Microsoft must hand over e-mail stored in Dublin, Ireland.

In essence, President Barack Obama's administration claims that any company with operations in the United States must comply with valid warrants for data, even if the content is stored overseas. It's a position Microsoft and companies like Apple say is wrong, arguing that the enforcement of US law stops at the border.

A magistrate judge has already sided with the government's position, ruling in April that "the basic principle that an entity lawfully obligated to produce information must do so regardless of the location of that information." Microsoft appealed to a federal judge, and the case is set to be heard on July 31.

so the patent (and apparently domain name) troll $micro$soft get trolled themselves. some might say good. ms deserves it. i dont agree. as much as i hate microsoft they are right. if a server is located outside US borders , then that countries permission must be obtained via that countries laws, to gain access to said server.
we are not the world govt or police.

Agreed! Isn't that the point of having borders? To establish jurisdiction?

Once again the government infringes on everyone's rights because, fack, "security."

I think it's mathematically certain that there's life elsewhere, but I don't believe for a second they've been here.

agent : orange states we are developing a warp drive. any civilization more advance than ours should have said drive, making interstellar travel possible.

we also have people "developing" cold fusion.  doesn't make it a reality.  i see zero proof of alien visitation... only stories of anal probes and naked men in phone booths.

and if the aliens are actively trying to avoid detection? i would think that anyone advanced enough for interstellar travel would be advanced enough to hide from us.
