My first show with Art Bell was on a cross-country move. Richard Hoagland was on talking about alien moon bases. Life changer for me. RIP Art.
hahaha... a great caller on the Howard Hughes show. "James" calls in about 4:45 into the 22:30 - 23:00 portion of the show:

He shares some interesting results from remote viewing Marilyn Monroe.

Am I seriously going to have to decide between Trump and Clinton? Really?!?

Could you make any sense of the stuff on her website?

I scanned through her website specifically for the raw data, which should be gigabytes of data. But that's not available. There are just a few snippets of mitochondrial DNA and other small sequences.

Buried in the supplemental data, there are some phylogenetic trees, but they weren't performed in a way to be meaningul. She would need to include dozens of primate species and all three of her sequenced samples together in the same analysis, and she would need to analyze hundreds or thousands of individual gene sequences.

All in all, what I saw did not encourage me to delve deeper.

Ah, thanks!  So there's no way you can think of to fake the results she's reporting?

Well you could fake results by lying about what's in the data. Or you could be incompetent in your analyses and get incorrect results. Until she releases her data, it is impossible to verify her claims or figure out what went wrong.

BTW, it is standard practice in science to release data upon publication to allow independent verification of results. Refusal to do so would be immediate grounds for rejection at any reputable journal.

So, assuming the samples she's sent everywhere are faked, is it possible to deliberately contaminate a mixed-up male primate sample with human-female DNA?

A faked or contaminated sample with mixed-up DNA from human and a primate would have mitochondrial DNA from both species.

There is likely to be natural contamination from bacteria or fungi in her samples, but a blast search should be able to identify that contaminant DNA as fungal or bacterial.

So, I guess it's aliens.
So, I'm the genomics professor caller. A phylogenetic tree would clearly show the identity of her samples, whether a new homonid, human, chimp, ape, possum, skunk, or whatever.

If bigfoot were real, and her samples weren't contaminants, then all of her samples would cluster together in a phylogenetic analysis. That would be all the proof a genomicist would need.

Frankly, her answer didn't make much sense. She couldn't disclose the identity, but then later said it was closer to human than anything else. But if it were closer to human than anything else, then 99.9% of the genome should unambiguously align with the human genome. There would be virtually no "unknown" DNA.
Now I understand. Heather's show is extremely important for exploring bullshit night after night. Getting checkbook out now. Does Keith accept checks?
Lots of anecdotal reports about Zinc supplements causing crazy, vivid dreams. Worked for me. Try it out.
What in the holy fuck... perhaps a bad time to pop in on the show...

When one of Art's Facebook "friends" say something stupid, post a screen cap in this thread:

Who is this woman and how did she get access to my webcam? And how could she possibly know my spew tastes like spite?!?!
Indeed. His professional handling of the situation was a welcome contrast to the ongoing MitD/DMDN saga.
HH mentioned on his latest episode (starting around 2:55 to 5:30) that he was indeed offered an Art-related gig (presumably at DMDN), but turned it down because he would have had to self-fund the project.

Hey Bateman,

For a true crime interview, how about talking to Alston Chase about the back story on the unabomber:

Or for something a bit stranger, maybe you could try to talk with Margaret Howe. Teaching dolphins to talk; dolphin love, heartache, and suicide; and LSD... this story has it all:
The time slot before MITD would be tough for Howard. But how about moving RCH before MITD and HH after? Which would be what, 8 am to 10 am in the UK? As far as I can tell, HH's BBC gig is once a week on Saturdays.

That could have been 7 straight hours of intriguing radio. Maybe still can... who knows.

Or rotate RCH and HH at the late hour and have the pre-MITD slot a rotation of live Bateman, Heather, Future Theatre. Hell, give MV the mic as well.

So many possibilities...

FoodIreland.com will ship you some Irish pudding. Their Donnelly brand is pretty delicious; not quite Clonakilty good, but it does the trick. Sear some scallops and put them on black pudding that has been slightly crisped up in butter. You're welcome.

So these dog men are interchangeable from two leg walking to four leg walking. I can`t think of any other animal that is comfortable with that at all.

Wait... so dogmen are real?!?! And here I thought this guest was full of shit.

So then grassmen are real, too?

Those subscriber numbers seem low to me

I cannot believe that Hoagland had nearly that many subscribers. If he did, then why all the "useless bandwith eaters" talk?

The more I listen to Syrett, the less I like him. He leans too far on the religious side of the science vs religion spectrum for my taste. He has issues with climate change and evolution but has no problems discussing red-headed giants or the Nephilim or the end of days? Say what you will about climate change and evolution, but at least these ideas have more than just photoshopped images and 2000 year-old text to support them.

Windows: You can use the built in task manager if it's enough for you. https://superuser.com/questions/666597/always-show-windows-cpu-monitor-graphic-in-taskbar
But I like process explorer. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
With windows, it's best to stay native if possible. Use the same process as the task manager to pop it into your taskbar at startup.
Also, in the menu bar, there is an option to "Hide on minimize" which will drop it into the task bar.

Linux: I deal mainly with Debian based systems. So to the upper panel I add 2 cpu graphs. These are baked right into any Ubuntu or Ubuntu derivative system.
Right click panel > "Panel" - Panel  Preferences > Items tab > + (Plus sign adds new item to the panel, click it.) > select "CPU Graph" Then I adjust the properties of the graph. The reason I run 2 is I set it up so one shows history, and the other is instantaneous.I select colors and display properties to match the desktop, and stretch the length on the one I'm using for a history graph.
I also add a launcher to the panel and drop a terminal emulator in there for easy access. (Linux command line is fun for me, windows CLI is a pain in the ass.)

Hope that helps. ;)

Reported for providing useful information...

Yeah, man. Thanks. I run OpenSuse and Windows 7. I will poke around and see what I can find.
