I didn't want to start a new thread concerning this because I am unsure if it's been mentioned here before.
I just learned of the Deep Web today (yeah, I'm pretty naive) through a friend who sent me this-
http://kotaku.com/a-horror-game-hidden-in-the-darkest-corners-of-the-inte-1714980337
It's downright creepy, I've read where people who have played it claim it embeds a worm and that they have had all sorts of strange stuff come up on their pc like 'I follow and track you', all from an anonymous source.  And there's been conspiracy theories involved as well.  Yeah. Talk about horrifying. Is it for real or just some sick joke?  I will not go there, heck, I haven't even watched the YT video attached to the article!
Can you hear me clucking?

So they are still a country within a state, rather than a state within a country?
What state are they presently in?  I suppose some are relieved, some are happy, some disappointed and some want to kick butts?

I'm the first to admit I'm not the brightest crayon in the box. I do the best with what I have.
I'm still struggling to suss it all out. The purpose (if any), of it all.
Birth. Death.
Mostly it's that in between part I'm having a lot of trouble with, which, I suppose, is the only part that really matters?
We don't choose to be born and most don't choose to die.
I'm just searching for explanations/answers that make sense to me, while I constantly alter/adjust my opinions as I gain new knowledge/information.
The problem is, the more I search, the more confused I get.

Sorry about drifting from the thread's topic.

Guess this should go under 'Things that Annoy You' but since it's kinda religiously based I decided to place it here.

Not far from where I live there is a woman's clinic.  Dunno if they do abortions or not, I'm gonna assume (yeah, yeah, I'm an ass, can be stubborn, too, wait, that's a mule...are asses stubborn, too?) they may, because there are generally always good Christians out there (fewer in winter, and none if it is raining or
too hot *rolls eyes*) either picketing, or on their knees, some with rosary beads praying (I'm not joking, they really do.)
So, firstly, I believe, with all the birth control available, there should be no 'mistakes', but yeah, stuff happens. If they cannot afford to have a child (or in the case of rape), rather than to place it in a 'home' or be abusive and not cared for, than let them do what they feel is necessary. It's their conscience.
BUT, secondly, I've often wondered, if someone went to the facility, with a lawyer so everything would be legal, and asked these protesters if they would be
willing to provide medical care and, when born, take the child into their home and raise it as their own, a very Christian thing to do, would any be willing? To actually do something worthy, other than just offering prayers or protests?
K, I'm done now.

Maybe religion is the reason we all can't get along?
Among other things like politics, race, gender related, sports, music preference and the
list goes on and on *sigh*

      The term "man cave".

It sounds like one of the places Al Pacino was trying to catch the killer in "Cruising".
How about 'Homo sapiens sapiens Den'?  Better?  No?
...oh, wait, that would include women, too.  Ruins the whole aspect.
BUT then, it would satisfy those who have gender specific issues.
Like what if you were a trans-man or a female that just likes tv, sports and beer drinking and
whatever else goes into a 'man cave'?

One-sided relationships.
Where it is all take and no give.

I once had a nightmare after too many beers that I was forced to attend a community theater musical with family members.  The show was called "Fibonacci's Sequins." Needless to say, it was not a good time.
Quote from: The General on July 31, 2014, 11:11:30 PM
It was an LGBT musical drama about an oppressed mathematician who was just busting at the seams to sing about math and being gay.  Why would my own damn mind subject me to such torture. I swear to God this nightmare really happened. Life is hard enough, why can't I dream about naked girls on the beach?

Reading this made my day, General! I'm still chuckling   ;D

Just what is 'normal' anyway?
Here is thefreedictionary.com's definition-

nor·mal  (nôrml)
adj.
1. Conforming with, adhering to, or constituting a norm, standard, pattern, level, or type; typical: normal room temperature; one's normal weight; normal diplomatic relations.
2. Biology Functioning or occurring in a natural way; lacking observable abnormalities or deficiencies.
3. Abbr. n or N Chemistry
a. Designating a solution having one gram equivalent weight of solute per liter of solution.
b. Designating an aliphatic hydrocarbon having a straight and unbranched chain of carbon atoms.
4. Mathematics
a. Being at right angles; perpendicular.
b. Perpendicular to the direction of a tangent line to a curve or a tangent plane to a surface.
5.
a. Relating to or characterized by average intelligence or development.
b. Free from mental illness; sane.
n.
1. Something normal; the standard: scored close to the normal.
2. The usual or expected state, form, amount, or degree.
3.
a. Correspondence to a norm.
b. An average.
4. Mathematics A perpendicular, especially a perpendicular to a line tangent to a plane curve or to a plane tangent to a space curve.

But who decides what is or isn't 'normal'? Wouldn't it be regional?

Oh, crap!  Then I don’t have to wear my foil helmet while posting here?  *sigh* ;)

I think most of it is perhaps simply a form of temporary escape from reality, and just having fun.
As long as it doesn’t harm anyone, I see nothing wrong with any of it, and I’ve seen some really amazingly creative people, those who sew and make their own ‘costumes’ and accessories.
I dunno about reenactors. They do tend to take the historic aspects and authenticity much more seriously.

Yumyumtree- What is blues dancing like?
I’m friends with some Rockabilly people, but even they branch out and/or encompass, sub-subcultures(?) like Surfer (at least with music), Western styles/music and the Prohibition era (which I rather like.)

West of the Rockies- Thank you for welcoming me back :)
Goth, hmm, ‘I wear black on the outside cause black is how I feel on the inside.’

Maybe it just all boils down to interests, and you don’t have to dress-up to appreciate it.
Anyway, thank you all for responding, now I must go, put on my uniform and report for duty (yeah, I said duty), 'beam me up, Scotty!' :)

Politics / Re: Freedom in the 50 States 2013
June 06, 2014, 06:20:46 AM
I live in N.J. (feel free to spit) so, what is this word 'freedom'?  Yes, in N.J. you have to pay to cross a bridge to leave the state and they keep increasing the toll.  Not upon entering it, though, what does that tell you?
Anyway, this may have been posted elsewhere in the forums, I just can't keep up, nor am I as well informed as most are here, so yeah, I have a lot of nerve saying anything (but that is what most of the uninformed do.  Whatdaya want?  I'm from Joisey!)

Opinions? Discuss? Maybe?
(Just, please don't be mean, k?)

(Oh, and I did not know where else to post this and did not want to make it a new topic if it is here somewhere already.)

Washington's birthday as a holiday. GodDAMN it! Everyone zooming around like they have some important place to be other than in my way. Stop looking at your FUCKING PHONE and pay attention! Overloaded pickup trucks carrying mattresses and furniture all over town.  Other people driving 30 mph LOWER than the posted highway speed limit. Kids walking in the middle of the streets. (Schools OUT, old fuck, get your car out of our way.) Cops around every corner, pissed off because they didn't get the day off, passing out tickets like Scientologists handing out pamphlets at the State Fair. Stupid holiday. It's as if the hive-mind mob is thinking, "We didn't get a real Super Bowl, so today is motherfuckin' IT! We deserve a special day! Meet you at fucking Applebees."

Holy Christ, I'm going to have an aneurysm.  A Blue Velvet moment that culminates with a surprise beetle scavenger hunt.

Wait, you're talking about the father of an entire country!  Who's slept just about everywhere, well, in the US at least, er everywhere on the east coast maybe?  And then there's this-
George Washington

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Art Bell Quits Dark Matter
November 05, 2013, 12:50:26 PM
Maybe Art should approach a tv station like Syfy or the like and have sort of a chat show (like a Jay Leno-esque type) with multiple guests.  It would be interesting to see those with differing opinions on a topic (could end up more like Jerry Springer, though!)  I mean, he has a pretty large radio fanbase, right?

(Dunno if anyone may have brought it up before. It could just be a stupid notion.  I have a lot of those....)

Have you heard of Michael Sheen?

If you had added Lucian from 'Underworld' some here might be more apt to recognize him.
Actually, I think he would have made a better Edgar Allan Poe than John Cusack in 'The Raven'.
He probably could have feigned a (southern?) american accent.
I first saw him in 'Wilde.'  I think he is a fine and versatile actor, and would probably be a good
candidate for the next Doctor.
I've only recently been watching the BBC America airings of the past Doctors.
My first Doctor was Christopher Eccleston.

Here is a very important topic- http://www.space.com/21763-paypal-galactic-space-payments-challenges.html?cmpid=527264

‘These companies are currently charging $250,000 and $95,000, respectively, for seats aboard their spaceships...'

Okay, so it’s just sort of a round trip bus-like space ride?
The only way I'd go (if they dropped the cost by, say, $225,000 and $94,975) would be if it was like the luxury cruise in 'The 5th Element' with a really epic alien singer, sipping champagne and schmoozing with Willis.
Make that Michael Fassbender in place of Willis.
