That's why the Cornucopia Institute is a great information resource (cornucopia.org).
Quote from: Bradsmith313 on August 28, 2015, 12:29:36 AMI'm thinking part of too many things for our system to deal with....gmos r just one of the cards in the deck. And I don't agree that gmos r not bad for us. Our hormone systems r out of whack from the psuedohormones from plastics in our food. Cascade effect causing a lock out. Gmos may not cause something, but they could be the cause for issues that we don't realize yet at a cellular level. Especially with our kids down the road. You can't tell me human kind is getting smarter and kinder on the daily food the Average American eats.
GMOs have NOTHING to do with autism.

Quote from: chefist on August 28, 2015, 12:21:12 AM'razor blade economics.' Great description.
Monsanto successfully sued a local farmer with heirloom crops that had them cross pollinated with patented GMO's...that farmer had to destroy his crop and was put out of business...he HAD to buy from Monsanto if he wanted to survive..it's just a form of monopoly...
Oh, and the seeds of GMO that are sold to farmers CANNOT be used as seed crop...they are STERILE...you have to buy the seed crop from Monsanto each year! GMO were just a form of razor blade economics...
Quote from: Spinner on August 28, 2015, 12:20:23 AMi used to gather native tobacco in Az. Made a tincture with it. Can't remember what for right now.....
Real (natural tobacco) has many medicinal properties. Research on PubMed or simply google "smoking is good for you." DO NOT confuse it with most cigarettes sold commercially by "big tobacco" (damn them!)

How come no one has ever mentioned that blowing up several hundred nuclear bombs for fun during the Cold War could be linked to the massive rise of cancer through the 20th century leading into the 21st?
No? We're going to with cigarettes? Okay...

Quote from: Sean92008 on August 27, 2015, 11:33:26 PMsmall portions & walking. Big pluses.
The most noticeable thing was how much more "skinny" people in Japan were... Healthier lifestyles, smaller meal portions (I've taken Japanese guests to the famous "Barney's Beanery" and had to warn them about the meal size), less convenience and more intensity required to live.
Okinawa has a level of pride about their culture and they really keep themselves apart from the rest of Japan.
