I'm not saying Trump leaving office would be the best case scenario.   Pence is more of a conventional Republican/politician and he wouldn't be any where near as much of a target as Trump is.  Moreover, the Dems and the MSM would have shot their wad if Trump were to go and it would be even more obvious than it is now that they are nothing but corrupt spoilers if they were to go after Pence in the same way.  Pence would survive in any case and most importantly he would see to it that justice is carried out with respect to Hilliary, Obama, et al.  I'm not sure that Ryan would.

In my mind, the above would be the worst possible outcome for the Dems.
