I haven't been in the area in years, but it certainly was a beautiful place to visit, especially around Newport Beach, of course.

Is that the Four Seasons?

Gathering it and storing it is a huge challenge. too.
Abundant in space is a relative term.

are they the monks that train German shepherds?
No, nothing so interesting.

Interesting. I don't know anything about Orange County. What are some perks of living there?

Great weather, access to pretty much every kind of resource/restaurant/thing to do, very quiet for being a huge, populous place. I'm not a huge crowd person, but since you're from NY City I imagine you can't live without crowds of some kind.

north Carolina has some beautiful spots. Why not upper new York by the anarondikes.

Good idea here, too. Some of the eastern Monks live in rural New Jersey (Phillipsburg area) and its a nice place. Very calm and quiet.

I've thought about moving to North Carolina. It seems like a sane place to live. Before our office moved, there was literally an ambulance in front of our building once a week. Now that we are in a nice part of town, I can wear jewelry again and can leave late and not do a fast walk to my car.

Orange County, California is the place for you Ibby.

That was a good show.

"The "monster" reportedly had a "man-like shape" and stood some ten feet tall, although Barker (1953) noted that "descriptions from the waist down are vague; most of the seven said this part of the figure was not under view.""

Ironically, tonight's show is supposed to be about "The Flatlands Monster," and claims America was attached by giant alien monsters in the 50's.

Maybe after you hit them with some heavy fire, you find out those alien kaiju are robots underneath, possibly piloted by a gorilla-like space race.

Trying to think my fave call into Heather was. The one where I asked the ceremonial magician about Alan Moore has to be up there. So does asking Jose Escamilla if The Loch Ness Monster was a Rod.

Space treees question.

I thought Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham were pretty funny in Spy.
Not sure if I'm going to see Ghostbusters-mainly because it looks like a direct remake.

I can't think of the last time I was fired up to see a direct remake.

I heard about 15 minutes of a lady that hunted demons(?). George asked some decent questions but then fell apart to "that's amazing". Needs to finish stronger.

Sounds like plenty of people hunt demons. I wonder if I can get on C2C as a dragon hunter.

there's a theatre here in Atlanta area, that hooks up with TCM, and shows 3 or 4 per summer "old" movies.
Never been, but Casablanca on the big screen would be great. I'd have to start smoking dope again for that.
"C'mon Mr. Richard, let's get outta here".

Sounds like a great theater.

Tying in with the movie theme, remember going to actual big theaters (before they all got chopped up), paying like 5 bucks for a prime time ticket, and like 2 bucks for a full popcorn?  A family outing to the movies now is as expensive as Disneyland was thirty years ago.

There are movie theater subscription services out there now: $40 a month for a movie a day, good at any theater.

The Skilled Man, who rises into power by his skills. You probably also like the other Skilled Men (the Hound and Bronn).

Just finished a week of binge watching this season's Game of Thrones.  Is it the best series ever?

Who is your favorite character?
