The constitution sets out succession and says if the president and vp are out it goes to an “officer.”  Members of Congress are not officers. One line of thought is that Nancy would have to resign from Congress to serve.  The other is that the 1947 succession that put the Speaker and President Pro Tem ahead of the Secretary of State is unconstitutional.

The new TOSOM on WABC is great.  I can sleep right through it.  Norway and the Blockhead Bunch always wake me up.

Politics / Re: Tump Biden - First Debate - 2020

Here’s the fix.  The Democrats delay the Supreme Court nomination until Biden is elected.  Biden appoints Harris to the court.  He then bows to pressure from Obama and appoints Valerie Jarrett VP.  Biden gets the Wuhan and resigns.  Jarrett becomes president, and due to rumors of particular photographs, appoints Hillary VP.  Two weeks later the photos come out and Jarrett commits suicide.  Jackstar’s head explodes as Hillary takes the oath of office.

President pate
It has come to my attention that there is now a disastrous shortage of paprika in American stores. Instead of coming from Hungary, Guatemala or Mexico, modern paprika comes from the slave holding provinces of Red China and is no longer imported.
This shit needs to be fixed.

The fiat currency and corporatism trace back to the Whigs and particularly Henry Clay of Kentucky.  Another Kentuckian turned Illinois Whig turned Republican put the whole thing into place, killing 600,000 soldiers and uncountable tens of thousands of civilians in the process.  Abraham Lincoln.

Great book.  Read it when new, still try to apply the lessons learned.

Tonight we get the assassination squad Operation 40.  I don’t see them doing much in the way of assassinating, at least not the appropriate people. I suppose this is yet another thing President Pate will have to fix.

For anyone to be Coyle, he’d have to know all of the cuts on Al Kooper’s “You Never Know Who Your Friends Are” album, in order, and know all the players in alphabetical order and by instrument.

I’ve seen a new theory today. China developed the virus to kill off its old people to reduce healthcare costs.  When it began to spread, China started promoting the idea that it was a super deadly virus to see what other countries would do and hopefully wreck their economies.  The female scientist from Hong Kong who says the virus is a deadly Frankenstein is part of the plot.

Why do so many of these people make videos while driving?

It will be worth staying up to hear what George has to say about RBG.  I predict a straight read of an AP story.

NPR is reporting her dying words were “I don’t want to be replaced by this president.”

Dim campaign war cry.  Releasing the news was a campaign decision.

Isn’t it awful that we have become so cynical - with reason.

Carlin was a brilliant comic.  I wonder how long he would have lasted in today’s social climate before he was placed in the cone of silence.
He wouldn’t have lasted through Hippy,  Dippy Weatherman.

Last night one of the regulars called, rambled on sucking George, ignoring the guest, said he wanted Mike the Millennial and Cornelius to call him after the show.  Half asleep, I started imagining what the conversation would be like.  That bored me back to sleep.

Hey if Joe throws in fewer assholes in front of me at the grocery checkout he’s got my vote!
No need for Joe.  Instead of a puny mask, I wear a respirator with huge filter elements on each side of my face.  Then I make breathing noises like Darth Vader.  That clears out folks fast.

Obvious glitch.  Usually he waits 2-3 minutes before asking a question a guest has already answered.

It’s simple. George always shows up.  He attends the endless corporate meetings and never makes an issue of anything.  He’s relatively cheap.  Sponsors still buy his show.  Upper management can pay no attention to the show and still make money and provide cheap programming for their stations.
In other words, George is an agreeable corporate toad.  Quality broadcasting has nothing to do with it.
#357
Yeah, George has told the story of having to perform for his family as a child.

I’ve been paying attention lately to how the regular callers talk to George, and if they are conscious of the guest, they ask George to ask the guest whatever it is.  Do they understand that the guest can hear them?

I think I’ll make up a story and call George a couple of times a week with it regardless of what the guest is talking about.

I liked Ian’s “What does that have to do with what we’re talking about?”
George Norway would have better shows if he learned that line.

Annie from Alabama called in defending the Steven King John Lennon conspiracy caller.
Followed by Cornelius who kept referring to a George "Norway"
Annie is also in the process of writing five non-fiction books.
Maybe George Norway will have her on to promote them.
