HA!!!
Only we can't get eggs on our burgers here.

Don't forget the beetroot.

I haven't had an Aussie burger in years.

Roget's Thesaurus rocks!! ;) ;D

I don't know about Roget, but Andrew Dice Clay would be proud.

Samysam...

I really do agree with your view "Make Love Not War"....

But I really think events and the situation we have here, have passed that by... For the most part, I do not believe this forum consists of out right haters.  I think this forum consists of a collection of very disappointed people. A good part of us are familiar with Art going back before 2000. He was then and still is now a master of the interview on the level of Larry King and so forth. And I suppose we all were hoping, after Arts "retirement",  Dave would keep that program at some kind of coherent level. I certainly did. And I will wager most on this forum, as I, wrote letter after letter after constructive criticism letter politely explaining why Dave should up his game, to get back to the kind of program, it was previously. We dont expect perfection. Howard Hughes at theunexplained.tv does a wonderful job. Anyway, that mass of communication from us for years has been ignored. So we are talking about a situation here that has evolved over say...pick a number... a 10 or 12 year period... To come in here, call everyone haters without understanding that history, is kind of a no start. You can do it, but it doesnt mean much.

That disappointment comes from these persistent "qualities" or "activities" of Dave:

(1) Poor interview preparation...In one case he was talking to a guest about his book "AI: Mankinds Last Intervention". The guest had to
correct him on air, that the title was "AI: Mankinds Last Invention"
(2) Poor interviewing skills...I clearly remember a caller giving a vivid account of a UFO sighting to which Dave replied "How do you know it
wasnt angels?" and immediately cutting him off.  Even Wikipedia references his uneven interview technique.
(3) A complete lack of general knowledge... In another case he was implying the winds off Hawaii were the result of weather in Vietnam.
(4) In cases where Art comes in conflict with a larger organization, Dave seems to always come out on top. And you have to ask yourself, how
does a person with such limited talent, succeed over another guy that is nothing but talent? So you get the image of him being something
of a passive opportunist and yes man.
(5) Theres also an active quality here, of Dave enthusiastically stepping on Arts toes. Recently he interviewed a person, who, more or less,
accused Art of serious immoral conduct. The case went to court and Art "won". Further, Dave and company attempted to "poach" Arts guests.
When the guests were interviewed, they said, they were told, they could have a spot on Daves show, but would have to cancel Arts. It
got so bad, Art had to keep his guest line up "classified" to do his program!

I wish we could all just get along too. And just because Dave will never be Art, doesnt mean we should accept just anyone-- that moderates the show Art started concerning a genre of radio Art largely pioneered. If Howard Hughes, or another gifted interviewer,  took Daves place, I think this forum would be ecstatic. So there are no haters here. But there are people very very disappointed.

Which is to say, personality is not the issue at all, rather, competency, craftsmanship, quality, a sense of ethics is...

And I to, wish the whole situation were not so...but it is.

Art, what about doing a weekly or even daily podcast, that isn't live, and is free, can you do that for the time being?  If you aren't selling anything, how could they assail you for that?  I'd love a 3 or 4 hour podcast.  We'd have that until you could go live again...

I've just accepted the fact that no matter how many times and how hard we explain it, some people will never understand what George Noory represents to us.

HaveAccess

Ziznak :  So true.

This is an actual closeup of George Noory's scalp.

I like pie.

Oh, that reminds me of my favorite TV show called The Twilight Zone. Did you ever see the one about aliens and a cook book?
But it was so sad at the end, when Ole' yellow dies. :'( :'(
Did I mention I was in the Navy?

I'm drinking wine and I still can't follow this crazy train ATM. Something about lilies, cats and meltdowns, topped off with a dash of unbalanced rage. Let's all pause for a moment and make sure we took our meds today.  :D

Don't pay it any mind. It's a part of Bellgab/coastgab history.  MV will be along at some point with the big janitor's broom and make a clean sweep. Again.

I don't know. Nobody seems to know. He's awake but just looks at people. Doesn't respond. Blinks and squeezes our hands, but doesn't really show recognition of people. They believe his right side is going to be paralyzed at the very least. Not sure how extensive the brain damage is. I hate to think of him as a vegetable-type, but damn, it might be worse to be trapped in your head and not able to communicate.

So sorry about your dad and Fred. It's a range of conflicting emotions that isn't fun but it's part of life. Hope you don't feel responsible in any way. Most people do it to themselves and leave their loved ones in a bad position. All part of being human I guess. Will you and your dad and your family in my prayers.

Art has stated that his non-compete includes most forms of communication that exists, and several that might eventually exist, so he is unable to even do podcasts at the moment.

He looks pretty good in this pic. Here's the thing. He needs to ditch Tommy and get a somewhat-attractive-especially-in-dimmer-lighting female PR manager to clean him up. Get him back to looking like this. Thoroughly debrief him on his guests and give him some more intelligent questions to ask them. Have real conversations with him about the guests before the show so he can get warmed up. Counsel him on strategic alliances and ad opportunities. Create a Noory 2.0.

Anyone can be awesome with the right PR magician behind them. I should send him my resume. I'm in between jobs ATM and frantically freelancing and doing odd Amazon Mechanical Turk jobs to make ends meet. I would love to try to polish him up. It could be the highlight of my career. I could hire a bunch of you guys as a focus group.  ;D ;D ;D

For a while, I was the PR rep for that U of A professor Dr. Gary Schwartz â€" he's a genius in energy research and is probably best known for his lab work with psychics and mediums. I didn't get to work with him as often as I would've liked because I was the PR director for the health and wellness resort where he was a resident expert, so he was one of a dozen such experts I had to handle. But I got giddy whenever he had a spot on C2C, which was frequently.

That's my two degrees of separation from Art and George â€" I think both of them have interviewed Dr. Schwartz â€" and the only name I have to drop in the paranormal/scientific community.

And now that I have proclaimed my specialness, I'm gonna go make some Stouffer's Fettuccine Alfredo. I won't take a picture of it this time though.
It's  sad he doesn't know who he wants to be? He's  fighting to turn the clock back...and he doesn't  realize what a joke he is and how silly it looked. Be graceful is not in his vocabulary . He has to try and fool everyone . Just really a sad little man. Besides with all the Kiwi shoe polish in that head he just rubs his shoes up there hits the heels and edges with his 'stache, whips of the troupe for a quick buff and away he goes. We already know how he travels without anything or a change of clothes. Yuck...a little colonge...instant bath and he's  good to go! What a skel!

I ache when anybody has to go through stuff like this -- and we all do, to some extent.  I know you weren't soliciting condolences, but just wanted you to know (as others have) that you're not alone.  Glad you were able to get it out.

Now back to the cheery, uplifting posts on BellGab!

I'm the same. It's called Empathy and nothing wrong with that. Never hurts to let others know that someone cares and understands what they are going through. Guess the folks here are human after all even though it doesn't seem like it at times. Cept for a couple who come across as really pathetic and need to get a life.

Just to keep this thread on topic for a second (what a concept! :D) â€"

I found this blurb about Art leaving Sirius written by George Knapp for Las Vegas CityLife. Maybe it's been posted here already and it doesn't give us anything new, but I thought it was kind of cool that Knapp wrote it.

http://lasvegascitylife.com/sections/opinion/knappster/wheeler-will-survive-comments.html

QuoteNames and Faces:

King of the late night airwaves Art Bell, whose ballyhooed return to radio six weeks ago was reported in everything from Time magazine to CityLife, has changed his mind. Bell’s radio show was once carried on 550 or so AM stations (Coast to Coast AM) but he retired a few years ago, returned briefly, then retired again.

In this latest incarnation, he appeared four nights each week on Sirius XM satellite radio, but things didn’t work out. Bell posted a message on his website this week which said he was quitting the show, mostly because of recurring technical problems with the satellite feed. Those Bell fans who already paid for a year’s subscription to satellite radio are crushed, and some are posting pretty angry notes online. One said the explanation about technical problems is about as believable as the government’s response to the Roswell UFO crash. Ouch!

I think the problem is that Art is Art and George is George trying to be Art, and fails miserably.

George didn't make C2CAM George's C2CAM... he made it George's imitation of Art's C2CAM*

*Now with more commercials!

And with fortified turmeric and Carnavoora too !
