Wow... this is like the playground in grade school. Let's all gang up and pick on somebody today.

Well you get 1/2 a point! Started out as your first positive post then went down hill from there....CULT!   hahahahaha Man, I bet you are the life of the party!  ;D

There are quite a few folks that post criticism on here, but it is generally mixed into their likeable comments towards Art and MITD.

And YOU are the arbiter of posting correctness? Good to know.

I'm trying to track down the origin of this new incarnation of this BS story. On Art's site it says: "Months ago, Inuit elders issued warning to NASA â€" “Earth has shifted”"

Well, that's just soo out of date. This story is YEARS old. It originally came out in '09 or '10.

...2 0r 3 old guys who THINK they remember the sun setting or rising in a different place.

I imagine Stonehenge and the various other monuments ancient people built, including some in N. America, e. g. the medicine wheels and the wood henge at Cahokia, were to settle disagreements like this.

Mebee

I'm guessing that this is maybe the source of the recent incarnation of this story. It's from 2014 on that wonderful bastion of truth... BEFORE IT'S NEWS:

“Earth Has Shifted” â€" Inuit Elders Issue Warning To NASA And The World

It appears that someone has simply cut and pasted that story onto Art's site directly from a source such as the above or may have altered it slightly. This BS has been copied all over the place on sites which don't give a rip about accuracy or truth.

Art's site version also contains this: "All the elders confirmed that the Earth has shifted...." WHAT? ALL of them? Where are those interviews to be seen?  I'm sure they DON'T EVEN EXIST. It's just a wild exaggeration. I don't know who is uploading stuff to Art's page, (Rowland?) but they either just don't give a shit or are happy to play his readers for fools.

Except we're not talking about something changing in the ancient past. We're talking about during the claimant's lifetimes- a few decades. It's utter nonsense. Just ask any real astronomer. If the sun were to be noticeably out of place in the sky, it would be the most important event in the history of Mankind on Earth. It's just some old guys who are wrong about what they claim to remember, yet it gets repeated by gullible people who don't care what they put on their websites and/or don't know enough about astronomy to understand just how absurd it is.

How about because it's old news and utter nonsense? It's just various ignorant conspiracy theorist sites, looking for clickbait by reposting obvious BS.

It was news to me.

Also as far as the content of the show goes: you do know there was a lady with a bigfoot living in her backyard on the show the other night, right?

Maybe just go along with the ride.

How many times do I have to say it? It's not about the general content of Art's show or what his guests say. It's about Art's PERSONAL credibility.  He came across as a gullible fool by repeating this nonsense as if it could possibly have any basis in fact. The original story was bad enough, but he is repeating an internet-morphed version which is even more fantastic than the original.

So now you are attacking Art's intelligence and credibility...so how are you not a troll?

Did you take it seriously? I guess people who don't know anything about astronomy might think this is possible, but it's not. Thousands of astronomers would know about it within hours. Of course, conspiracy theorists just say that the astronomers are all being "controlled" and the story goes on and on... Hilarious!

I have no idea what YOUR definition of a "troll" is. You seem to chronically misread the written word... intentionally, I think. I said he "came across as...", and, yes, it DOES reflect on Art's personal credibility. That's not MY fault. I actually think he is better than that. I hate to see him look a fool.

Having glanced through the last coupla dozen posts, I think that if Art doesn't start selling tampons with the MITD logo then he is missing out on the merchandising opportunity of the decade.

I took it as seriously as I take any other doomsday scenario. So not very seriously, no.

I do like the 9/23 stuff. Just because it's next week and we'll all (well hopefully) get a good laugh when nothing happens.

I understand better where you're coming from, though.

Misogynist. Besides, mebee is a boy.  Although perhaps going through male menopause or T overdose is more likely the problem on this forum. Or whatever it is that makes the boys go off the deep end. Actually, after Art's disclosure awhile back, Viagra should be the sponsor

Um.....like....all you have to do is google 'sun rises two days early in greenland'. Tons of articles there, starting with The London Daily Telegraph.

Saw this story couple of years back and it's still happening. And....some airports have even had to recalculate their landing procedures and runway markings. So....there ya go.

This is the earliest posting I can find in this recent resurgence of this story. It's on something called "ALLNEWSPIPELINE". It's from December 5, 2014. I'm SURE they are a reliable news organization!  ::)

Um... like... why? In order to accomplish, like, what? That story is not proof of a physical "pole shift". It is caused by something called the "Novaya Zemlya effect". It's an arctic refraction phenomenon discovered some 400 years ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novaya_Zemlya_effect

Sorry? WHAT is still happening? Now you are referring to stories about a MAGNETIC pole shift which changes the orientation of compass headings, and IS a real thing, but NOT a change in Earth's rotational poles or a shift in Earth's axial orientation in space.

You provide a perfect example of the result of the proliferation of these BS stories on the internet.

Of course it's a great show. That doesn't mean Art can't make a mistake or that no one should mention it if he does. That's pure CULT thinking.

Drink the kool-aid Mebee. Drink the kool-aid...

Or at least take a chiil-pill. It's just a (fantastic) radio show... and the Inuit story is funny as shit!

Maybe Art can pick-up Valium or Xanax as a sponsor.

Sorry? The day WHAT happened? Major earthquakes DO change Earth's rotation and axis by a MINISCULE amount (perhaps a few centimeters at the poles) and have done so for millions of years. However that is NOT related to seeing the sun, moon or stars visibly out of place in the sky. That is NOT happening.

I despise seeing vulnerable people taken advantage of. You said "It's just a radio show" as if it has no real effect on anyone, but it DOES! I don't object to Art having any lunatic he wants on his show. I DO think it's bad when HE personally promotes BS he should know better than to believe. I don't like it because it reflects, incorrectly I think, on HIS credibility.

He casually mentions an odd and peculiar story = He personally vouches for its "truthiness"

K_Dubb

I like watching the credulous loons, which is evil.  But if Art had not respectfully presented that bit of knowledge from the indigenous wisdom-keepers I would never have learned of the Novaya Zemlya effect.

Personally I feel bad for the elders.  I think some teenagers moved Grandpa's inukshuk during the night.
