Regarding Art- I'm going to try another angle.  Being as we are all still concerned about Art's being an "absentee father,"  I'm going to remind people that there are far worse parents than one who is absent.  If Art was horrible as everybody is now convinced that he was, perhaps he did the right thing and recognized the harm that would be wrought on his children if he stayed?

Abusive, controlling fathers have a tendency to do more harm than one who disappears. Maybe his leaving was an act of selflessness and decency.

You bring up a valid point.  I will counter with this: If he left for those reasons, he could have still done something like child support (which I don't recall if that was done or not) or setting up college funds for the kids.  He could have reached out to them when they were adults or near adulthood.

As far as the pedo allegations go, that's a damn serious charge to make about someone.  Bring solid proof.

I'm new here but i'm ready to drop bellgab, it was a good three weeks but the way the conversation has gone, i need a dump button. 
Boring gossip and lies, i expect better.  Art wasn't perfect but who is?   No wonder he quit broadcasting.  I think the whiners should go over to George Noory.  He's nice and safe.
