Initial MITD Program co-host

My memory sucks, but didn't AB have Heather on as a co-host on the test program for MITD?
I seem to recall he bowed to the on-line pressure to do the show solo. Had the co-hosting continued, wouldn't it have been easier for him to remove himself from the program. I wonder if this was the initial plan?
