Art Bell replacement host now that he's gone for good, maybe, again

The naive think that RT is a publically owned independent and balanced news outlet from a Russian perspective. I must confess I was quite stunned when it was said who he works for (owned by?) now. We had two sports pundit/commentators who made misogynist remarks on air (they worked for Murdoch's Sky TV) and were fired after standard procedure; they I think went to work for Al Jazeera!
I wonder how long these "news" outfits will be able to exist, or hire known/familiar talent, what with the oil and gas prices these days? I have no problem with them having news stations (it isn't like much of our news doesn't have a certain slant or perspective) but they can't be making a profit.

Larry kings to old and under nourished to handle midnight in the desert. Besides what if one of his suspenders snaps while on air and we have another Art bell melt down situation.

Naw, this radio racket is a young persons grove who knows the game. All the people we grew up with are getting to farting old to handle late night nut news.

Dark City. Steve Warner. The Future.

Yeah, it looks like I'll be back to Clyde Lewis and Steve Warner myself.

Replacement for what? The show is done with. As much as people on here want to pretend otherwise that show is done for. Again you and so many people on her fail to address the fact that DM is collapsing and radio stations have already started to throw the show overboard.

Also I would like a link to where she said she wants to take over the full mantle, and not just a platitude on the D-Day show last night.

Sadly, I think you are right on the money with that comment.

If they wanted desperately for the station to survive, and move on with a new host, they would find and put in place the best, most experienced radio person they could find. They may already have someone who could do it on another show on the network right now. I dont know if they do or not but its obvious by the choice of Heather first, they are just going to let things go without even an attempt.

The reason they are not trying to save it is obvious because they are letting an absolute green amateur take the drivers seat at what is the most crucial moment in the stations existence.

If you wanted to survive this as a network, you would not do what they are doing with this show. Everything depends on the success of this show and unfortunately, by putting Heather in the chair, I believe they are just allowing her to drive it home for the last month rather than move in someone else and try to save the show. If they want to save it, they are pinning a lot of hope on someone who has little experience in radio broadcasting.

Maybe Art is okay with that. Maybe he would not want to be known as the host of mitd before "whomever" made it successful. I sometimes wonder if Heather is set up to fail here as she really has not much chance. Someone else might though, and that might not be what everyone wants.

Its over.

MiTD should just be allowed to die, it was arts show

MITD is obligated to stay on the air for another 30 days according to Keith.

She should rename the show then

But that other show would suffer if their host was good.

As a fan, I'd rather have an interested "amateur" than the avg. "pro" doing it.  C2C is hosted most nights by a pro.
