LOL.  I just read a novel by Dennis Wheatley that literally climaxes during a summer solstice ceremony.  Let's just say it climaxes in more ways than one.  LOL.  Not that wild because it was written in the 40's but maybe a bit wild for those days.  :P

I just grabbed the entire Wheatley collection because of your posts in the reading thread. :)

Happy Friday, I hope!

Btw, Heather is still off the air. The fringe folks are freaking out. The network is playing another show with a male host, on Edwards the serial killer. Really horrible sound, so I assume it's a different LNM show? Anyway, I don't want to hear it, so I'm back to Mr. Winnie.

Dr. MD MD

Was it perhaps Cash me outside that you heard? :D

Cool!!  8)  He's not for everyone.  He's very right-wing and hates socialism/communism which aligns with my thoughts as well.  I find that my concept of the after-life falls completely in line with his too.  He's like a long-lost brother to me.  He is not prudish in his writing and doesn't shy away much when it comes to describing the excesses of the flesh especially given the time in which he lived. I know Christopher Lee was a a huge fan of Wheatley's.  He wanted to remake The Devil Rides Out with Joe Dante and make it somewhat more sexually graphic than the Hammer version was.

No, no gofundme tonight, but if you feel you'd like a sweet mood-lifter, take a few minutes to watch Paul McCartney with James Corden doing carpool karaoke, and then a tour in Liverpool. Funny and really nice! Also Paul twice makes reference to his belief in the afterlife as fact. One's a story about his Mom which led to "Let It Be," and the other a flat statement about James Corden's Dad. Enjoy!

Thanks! I love his car karaoke. I will check this out later

Macca has been running on vapors.  His voice is nearly shot too.  At least he's letting his dyed hair start to grey...

Hi albrecht. I wanted to thank you for recommending Norse Mythology. Just started it but already really enjoying the book. Can't believe I never read anything by Neil Gaiman before. Excellent writer

I think his book is a good primer or way to reintroduce to folks or younger folks. But the "good stuff" is reading Snorri and various sagas that have the history and the 'mythsv  K_dubb can direct you but I like Hollander  translation for the Heimskringla and the found often cheap paperbacks Penguin Classics for the other sagas and poetry. They also cover stuff into British Isles etc in addition. You also might want to research "Norwegian" or "Scandanavian" & "black books" and also ones found here. Lastly, "Hardanger Fiddle" and tunings and legends. Hope thats enough for a midsommers....

Oh, me too! Though technically, I believe he was Scottish, not British. He was one of the few late night TV people I went out of my way to watch, and could make me laugh out loud. He has an interesting and wild background, from a wild punk rock band to writing very well-received and respected novels. Go figure. Remember: "It's a great night for America!" said with a burr... <g>

Yes, he is from Scotland. I read his book "American on Purpose".  I loved The Late Late Show.

Mr Apnea

Hey Dave,

Was that a G.I. Joe with the Kung Fu Grip?

Dr. MD MD

Maybe it was a neighbor with a CB radio who could see in your window.

He spent a buttload of cash getting his buttloaded from ladyboys.
Ladyboys - the next best thing for anal probing when you can't find an alien.

Nope I used thick curtains on my room, I was paranoid of peeping toms so I always kept them closed.

Sorry Dave, more drama over a LNM and Heather is apparently blaming Art for pulling cables in her home studio.  He doesn't want her on, I guess.

I have returned.  Apologies for not giving you 100% of my undivided attention.

Miss Winnie, if you feel the need, you may lock me up and practice corporal punishment, although I'd prefer Private punishment, if you feel that Sergeant Major punishment is necessary, I'm game.

Don't forget to change Dave's buckets once in a while.  Prison life is tough.

This is true.  Couldn't believe how ragged his voice sounded on his last album.

To be fair - Macca just turned 76. He's not going to sound like prime-Macca (Beatles and Wings era). He still regularly tours and all as well, which is impressive at his age when others like Elton John are quitting the touring lifestyle. I'm going to enjoy him while I still can.

I read the some of Elder Edda in college. But stayed mainly with British lit. Of course, Beowulf.  I love mythology in general.

This latest release, I know bar bands that wouldn't put such drivel out.

Of course, since loyal Heatherite-like Macca fans will buy anything he vomits out...  Put him and Ringo on a plane and reunite the Beatles.
