It's almost as if hiring a host with no radio experience and a knowledge base as deep as a cat food tin was a bad idea.

In their defense,  they did see that model work for Falkie.

art was clearly thinking with another part of his body when he birthed this abortion.

I couldn't tell whether that was Heathers fault, or Juans fault, to be honest.

Yeah, I do tend to get recursive in conversation at times. My speech patterns can really suck.

This was the MITD brain trust's "Hail Mary" play.

Good point. However what sane radio personality would touch such damaged goods, thanks to the way Keith and Art handled MitD?

i would honestly prefer to listen to falkie prattle on for a couple of hours than listen to this trainwreck. art fucked us all in the ass and didn't even have the courtesy to lube up.

It's the thought that counts Juan.  We know you do it for bellgab!!!   It's a HUGE responsibility!  Anyone would be nervous.

Right?

Not even a small jar of Mayonaise.

Okay, we're now suggesting Heather is Art's daughter now, which wouldn't be bad except for the previous accusations of their being FWBs, or worse.

That fucker owes you some lube. ;)

It does seem that she cuts people's calls short, when she can't grasp what they're saying.

Again, let's be honest here. If Art hadn't quit because of the stalker, he still would have eventually been knocked off the air by his health issues.

changing

I think that's one of my big problems - lack of prep or how to explain things.

I remember one of the nights Art had on a guest about the simulation/holographic universe theory, and I brought up the idea of the informational space drive. The guest didn't understand the concept until I said it was hacking into the universe's "coding'" and propelling the ship by changing the "programming" of localized space.

I don't think you should be concerned JuanCena.  I like your style.  It adds to the entertainment value. IMO.

Tinfoil_Helm

Heather remains to be the dumbest motherfucker on the radio ever.  And now she's being an ahistorical racist.  Fuck her.

What else can she do if she can't contribute to the conversation? She already embarrasses herself, and is flailing in the night, on most of the subject matter.

I can't disagree with you here. Though, the MITD brain trust embarrasses itself more by allowing this to have happened.

I some of it comes from really trying to push the knowledge  limits of whatever guest Heather has on.

I remember calling in one of Heather's first shows when she had on a "ceremonial magician" from the U.K., and I asked him his opinions on whether he considered Alan Moore as being a true ceremonial magician, as opposed to being a poser or a performance artist.

That's what she needed to learn from Art: How to tackle unfamiliar subject matter. It's something that she, Hoagie, and Dave all have problems with at times.

True enough. However the whole show hinged on Art Bell. Art is a diva who hasn't had a steady job in like 20 years.

Really I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did. I knew the show was in big trouble when Art quit the show twice, before it ever aired. Art fell out with Keith, then Art couldn't believe the music industry wanted to be paid for the music he just had to have to do HIS show. UGG

Don't second guess yourself Juan; you're not the problem, the host is.

First time looking at this thread in a long time.

I take it she's gotten better?

Art is an intelligent, well read man. He is the "Father" of the paranormal radio show genre. Though, his legacy will be tainted by bizarre episodes of: quitting/poor behaviour, bad decisions, and plain stupidity etc. This in itself is sad.  :(

True enough a good host would help sort out someone who is having trouble getting their points across. Then plum the depths of the subjects at hand until a logical conclusion, or it runs outta steam. Art had that talent, Heath not so much.

I'll never say that Art isn't a diva at best, and a total drama queen at worse. However, it's clear that he has decided to choose his personal life over his professional life in some cases. Others were issues with media companies who weren't going to bend over backwards for him (or forwards, for that matter), even if he was right.

There's an old fashioned concept that would definitely help here. It's involves doing your homework, and studying. When test day comes; guess what?, you'll do fine.
