For a moment I thought that I recalled it- but then I remember that BJ was extremely upset in another episode because his daughter (Erin?) had called Radar "daddy" when they met.  It became quite the plot in that episode when he decided to go home- so the two cannot exist together.  While the "feeling" that Radar died is vague, the plot of the BJ show is concrete...

I am starting to believe that the reason is how few characters "left the show" and actually went home.  Henry's death was announced by Radar and the two events get intertwined in our minds.

Walter went home..even had his own spin off that didnt last and i think an appearance or so on After Mash

but..he was a totally different sort of character from the movie and say...first 2 and a half seasons..he was one of the gang..drank..played poker..etc etc...then they turned him into a sort of all american boy

yeah...MASH is a show with super duper plotholes lol changes from one season to the next
