OK, I just realized that there are at least 2 kinds of listeners, NEW and OLD.

I am a long term listener, which I refer to as OLD.  I am jaded and have heard it all before probably hundreds of times. My experiences have made me more skeptical of the CLAIMS made by guests.

Then there is the new listener. For such a listener, all of this is pretty fascinating new information. They love it! I understand that. I was there in the 90's.

So should OLD listeners like me be quiet and not interrupt the "naive" joy and fun of listening to these interviews?

My problem being an old listener is that I lose interest in listening. It's almost all BS - and I'm the type of person that finds reality much more interesting than fiction. I started listening to art when I was 18 and it was a life changing experience back then. The fact is that not much has changed in the topics and not many that I can tolerate anymore.

What if you are out of your body, and run into someone else who is also out of their body?
I've actually tried to arrange something like that with someone I was extremely close to... Trying to meet in our dreams.  Both of us were confident we could "fly" in our dreams.  On two occasions, we reported feeling each other's presence, but could not "see" each other or anything like communicating.  We probably tried this 50 or 60 times before we lost interest.  Can't really call it a controlled experiment, but out of the few % of dreams I actually remember, though are still two of the most vivid.  Who knows.... This is a magnificent universe we live in and we know so little and understand even less.

Maybe I'm just basking in the rosy glow of Art's return, but I'm enjoying this show.  Lucid dreaming, OBE's, spirit realms - I think it's pretty cool and the guest is ok.

So I would ask, what sort of guest do you want?

I'd like Tess Gerritsen, Bryan Suits (military / middle east expert), Neil Young (about his PONO player and audio quality), the guy who runs Ting (cell service provider and changing the market)...

Not knowing how to drive saves you the grief of having to drive.  I wish I lived in a place that mass transit was good (like Japan, Eastern USA, Europe).  I'd dump the car SO fast.  :/
Alaska is not very good for mass transit. Cars just disgust and kind of scare me. My sister (who I live with) drives me to and from work and I walk to nearby stores in the summer, during the short seasons where the weather is tame enough.

They uniformly clog the 5.  I am near Legoland and see a ton of them and they always drive completely wrong (especially near the 5/405 split).  I was rear-ended by a guy from Arizona, tailgating me at 80 MPH and a little slow down...

Seriously, I have relatives in Phoenix. Whenever we drive there and usually spend a week, we experience more TAIL GATERS than anywhere else I have driven. I also found that many people in Phoenix get on a freeway at 40 miles an hour. Try that on an LA freeway and you will be smashed into a ditch or up against a wall in seconds. I guess I am a true Los Angeles driver because people in Phoenix always seem to be driving too damn slow OR are up against my back bumper.

This is the worst thing about the show. Guest has a goofy tone that sounds a bit insincere. I think he's just nervous or awkward (or really, really baked). I'm digging the show / material overall though, and think it'll be better now that we're hearing about callers' experiences.

You seem to forget that Art Bell is all about PARANORMAL subjects. You seem to be wanting a technical podcast. I am sure they exist.

Los Angeles is full of Arizona license plates too.

I live in Western AZ and a lot of the plates around here are Cali - especially around the river cities. They bring the debauchery and vanity to our small cities.

Don't explain it to us. Call in and share on-air.

not to be a tease, but whenever I try and explain this stuff either vocally or in type,  I get the overwhelming feeling not to. Like a force saying no. very strange.

I feel the same! The show is great, and I'm happy hearing Arts interviews and answering calls!  I actually enjoy this topic, and am interested in more shows about OBEs and lucid dreaming.

I can't agree with you. The streaming problems from SiriusXM were very bad in comparison to the problems users are having now. The guests and callers are better than I had feared.

Perhaps it is simply a point of view. I grant you it could be leagues better. But it's still much superior to Dark Matter in every way that I can visualize a comparison.

Ironically, I never had a problem with SXM/DM, but have had issues with MITD since day one.  I will agree the callers have been better than DM, but other than Hancock and Dolan I can't say much for the MITD guests.  To date I've not heard Art get exasperated with guests like he did on DM, goes back to Art sounding happy and the different vibe Steve alluded to.  I just hope he stays that way.

Where do you live now?

Furthermore, do you plan on driving to San Diego during your summer vacation?  If so, please don't.  Every time I go to Costco in summertime, there's a dozen cars with Arizona plates every freakin' time.

haha..i'm originally from west covina. moved to ny in 02. getting sick of it

Yeah this guest is pretty alright.  Wish I wasn't having the technical difficulties over the internet, but stuff happens.  I had way worse luck with Sirius XM's streaming app than the VLC thing, but I think this internet issue is probably out of Art's jurisdiction due to the problems with other sites that have been occuring.  Bellgab included.
