Is 3 Hours Enough?

One thing we can be sure of after last night, I think most of us were left with wanting more show.  Is three hours really enough time to do MITD?  I'd like to take a survey and see what you all think just for fun.

I'm thankful and surprised it's a 3 hour show as it is.  You should be too.

This is a lot to work for a 70 year old man with a young family.  Just enjoy the 3 hours as it is.  Dave doesn't give Us 3 hours of actual awake content a week.

Do we really need to keep creating a separate thread whenever it takes our fancy? I'm sure it will end up driving MV mad trying  to merge all these together. Most of them can go in the Art Bell thread, and will probably end up there sooner or later. It ends up getting too confusing and people don't read what you have to say anyway.

Your right a topic for every thought is a bit much.

3 hours is more than c2c with all there commercial content. Keep in mind arts bad back.

I wish the show was 8 hours long but if art wants to do 3 hours it's fine with me. Personally I want as much art as possible. But he is getting up there and has a bad back, I'm thankful for 3 hours.

Whatever ART wants to give up to his listeners is fine with me.

We're going to have to get you a cone so you stop chewing.

Ahh, an effort at humour. Well, I don't want to discourage you, maybe you'll get there in the end.

Keep at it, champ!

To answer your question...Yes, its enough.

Works for me and really it's what works for Art and his family life/back and physical issues.  3 hours five nights a week? Hell yeah.

i agree.  i'm kinda limited in how much listening i can do anyway, and i'm just glad he's back.  the universe seems properly aligned at the moment.

Yes.  I think it's perfect and would have been happy with once week.

Don't forget.  There's still thousands of Art's old shows.  I'll joyfully listen to Somewhere in Time on Saturday nights, now knowing there is new Art ahead.  I know Art isn't thrilled PremRat is still broadcasting SIT but I'll make the most of it while it's on.

Thanks, PremRat, for the free 4 hour ad for Art every Saturday night!

3 hours is more than enough at age 70. Also, the commercials are very limited and fly by quickly..

Well on Sat listen to the first 3 hours of SIT, the switch over to MITD. That'll give you six hours of Art! 8) ;D ;)
And on other days just listen to some of the DM or C2C Archives of Art.
When I've had to work 12 hr shifts on the weekend it's Art for awhile, then the Best of the Bob and Tom Show.
That way I get to keep my ears and brain clean and clear of Scary Uncle Dave!

I'd love more if Art chose to extend it. 3 hours is better than the no hours we were getting for a long time. I will take what ever as long as it keeps MITD from going away!

Three hours is perfect. The show is so much faster and tighter than it was in the Sirius days. I think anymore is asking too much of Art and would make the show drag. I'm very pleased with the length.

I think everything about the show is PERFECT!

1. We finally have Art back!
2. The commercial breaks are FAST!
3. Weird News at the bottom of the hour, GENIUS!
4. Music absolutely brilliant!
5. 3 solid hours that are at least the same time content as 4-5 hours of C2C
6. Art's questions that leave you thinking long after the show is over.
7. Guests that naturally have fun and are elevated by Art's interview skills.
8. The quality of the callers is unsurpassed by any other show I've heard.
9. Art makes the anticipation level for the next night almost unbearable.
10. We finally have Art back!

I would love another hour, but I'm happy enough that he's doing 3 and I would not want him to burn himself out.   It's amazing how much better it is to get a new show than listen to an old one.   His commentary on today's news is great to listen to.

I would of course like a longer show but three hours is fine. Dark Matter was much longer (MITD 2 hours without commercials, Dark Matter was 3 and a half hours) but it was also on only four days a week and required as XM sub so overall I think 3 hours for 5 days is fine.

The top ten reasons why it's been a good week!

The first hour feels rushed, only because Art wants to give the guest as much time as possible. I sort of miss the his news/views/rambling then finish off the first hour with phone calls before going into the guest.
