Thank you!  I cannot wait for his return to the digital airwaves.
Ive been on here for about two years.  Posting here and there.  I enjoy the Gabcast podcast. That is one I have been waiting to call into.  One of my favorite ART shows is the night before Sept 11th. He had a guy on talking about "PirateRadio" on the shortwave bands.  It was a hoot!!!

Where would this "bump out of the gate" come from? internet ads? word of mouth?

His name and the group of fans he still has. The implication was that the podcast would be intermittent and disappointing in content, thus after the initial rush of excitement, only hard-core fans would bother with it.

Art's primary goal is to make the show free for everyone, and along with that keep his freedom.  This is why he's choosing to stream as opposed to trying to get back on AM radio.  He also has no interest in directly competing on the radio waves with the show he created.  He has no interest in getting tied back into contracts or dealing with someone else's equipment.  He's doing all of this using his own money and time for the love of the show and his fans.  To that end, we should all be grateful.

Now with that being said, does anyone here know what the legalities of simultaneously broadcasting a podcast through ham radio?  While not everyone has internet, those that don't likely do still have a HAM license and could listen.  Heck art could dedicate a part of his page teaching people.  Granted it's not as easy as just turning the dial on AM, but it something.  Just food for thought.

I like that it will be free and online.
At the very least he should start a support page at Patreon or GoFundMe , or whatever is a good crowdfunding page.
People are giving tons of money for total crap, so I hope something like a new Dark Matter show that is FREE will get some crowd support.
Maybe Art can license the show to some radio stations as well, like Alex Jones does with his syndicated show.
He might need to have advertising pauses then, but why not, it feeds the family, and he can have his truckers listening and calling in too.

A licensing deal sounds interesting, though I'm not sure Art would go for it.  It still goes back to him competing with his own show.  Now on the other hand if there's stations out there that stopped broadcasting C2C...that's another story.

If whatever his legal non-compete with Sirius-XM (or with iHeartMedia) is over than what is wrong with him competing with C2C? There are AM and FM stations that don't carry, or have dropped C2C that, depending on the price and numbers, like to carry his show. Or carry the show for rebroadcast at another time even. And lots of local or lower powered stations out there. I think he should consider, again depending on the cost, of going Shortwave also- for those in the wild, their bunkers, or on the water. He should be broad-spectrum and use all types of media propagation (internet streaming, youtube, podcast, AM/FM/SW, and even- maybe- encourage (wink, wink) pirate radio stations and local FM broadcasts.)

Legally there's nothing stopping him.  I just don't see him jumping on that market any more for various reasons I mentioned before.  Remember he has to deal with the FCC when he broadcasts on public airwaves...where's the internet is still the wild west.  Come to think of it, he still has to deal with the FCC in regards to HAM radio..so maybe that's not such a good alternative.

Drunkenly shaving my balls in Florida in the early AM was the first time I heard Art.

maybe it's a bad idea to expect miracles when Art isn't talking straight, honest and openly.
the guy is always to wishi-washi secretive.
you probably need to advertise your patreon a bit better if you expect money.
all kinds of morons make tons of cash with patreon, it's just about getting the publicity.
