The General

I've been enjoying this dude's show lately.
The local AM station just started carrying him several months ago.
Anyone else listening?

Bart Ell

Deace is close to deuce.
I hope his show isn't shit and you are here to trick people into shit.

Since I'm housesitting in Seattle this week and can listen to 1590, I'm listening for the first time tonight.  Sounds OK so far.  Better than Mike Gallagher, which is what I think they had in this slot before.

I think I remember who was in this slot before--Andy Dean.  I predicted that he wouldn't last too long--he didnt really seem like a good fit for Salem.

I'm not sure what to think about this guest tonight talking about human trafficking, though. He seems pretty fixated on the sexual aspect of it.  I think in reality human trafficking also involves a lot of domestic servants, factory workers, people fron foreign countries conned with the promise of jobs, etc.

I'm sure that some people will remember that a few years ago Seattle Weekly did a big story on human sex trafficking and why it may greatly over-exaggerated. Most people just thought that they had an axe to grind because they were owned by the same company that owned Village Voice at the time and the Back Page ads were under a lot of scrutiny. Appparently a lot of the ad revenue for papers like that is from sexually oriented advertising. But still.  I always remembered that. After all, it wouldn't be the first time that one of these social ills turned out to be overblown.

Yeah, Andy Dean was in this slot previously on Seattle's 1590.  He was alright.  I like Deace a lot better.

Dean was a smart aleck, and too into show business gossip. He billed himself as the"King of new content" or something.

This Who theme music is fun, but I have feeling it would get old after a few weeks.

Still this is preferable to Mr. Beans and Rice or the hack Lars Larson.

I like Deace's Just Say No idea. He's right. Most of the time, the downside won't be that steep.

Deace has a saying about where gay marriage is going...
"You will be made to care."
He's right.  That's where it's heading.
