I am pretty sure Starr's father was born after the Civil War.

I'm thinking it will look a lot like the Dyatlov Pass incident the next morning.

Took me a while to remember the name of this movie:
Synopsis: The Dyatlove Pass Incident follows a group of students on a trek to investigate the true life mystery of nine Russian skiers who befell an unexplained death while skiing in the Russian mountains in 1959. To this day, their deaths have been one of the most bizarre unsolved mysteries of the 20th century.

If you want good camping but still want to be around civilization and the services a bigger city offers then check out Hillsdale Lake...just a tad outside the KC Metro area...(if anyone will be flying in).

Tuttle Creek and Stockdale are a little further west, but they are nice places to camp...Manhattan is nearby and is a college town with anything you might need.

If you are looking for the best sky for gazing, western Kansas may be your best bet.  You would be far away form city lights and whatnot and offers wide open spaces.  Check out Scott State Park.  I used to camp there from time to time but it has been near twenty years.

One of the better museums resides in Hays (another college town).  http://oceansofkansas.com/  Cedar Bluff State Park is nearby.

I realize it is a ways off, but just a couple suggestions.

Yep..Bloody Kansas.  Lots of Civil War history around here.  There is a small unincorporated community near where I live called Pleasant Grove.  After Quantrill and his raiders burned Lawrence, they headed south and supposedly bushwacked most of the small community.  I guess there is a small cemetery near the town where they buried all the victims.  I have yet to see it.

Thanks for suggestions. .... Appreciated... I'm like the Earnest Shackleton .. of ... remote places with creature comforts. Can't have any complaints about 'needs' ..must satisfy all..

Now where were we.  Vegas .. Lots of creature comforts there

For Pete's Sake Senda, you're not able to figure out Rally Squirrel sent you a bunch of food as a prank so you'd eat it on the air and we'd all have something to talk about that?  For a prank call you talk about how unfair it is to you, to MV, to listeners, but you slurping, chewing, belching and chomping is just fine, not unfair to anyone at all.

Him not paying the tip and leaving it for you to not pay either was part of the prank, of course that was lost on you as well.

Sometimes a pizza is just a pizza.

This is not one of those times.

Lawrence.

Oh yeah?  My family and I spend a lot of time in Lawrence, even more than KC.

Had a crazy day, finally had a chance to listen to your videos just now George.  I really enjoyed them!  SO happy to hear you got your new laptop from MV. I was kind of worried when you said you got one so cheap, cuz there are some major rip-off artists out there.

Praise MV!

I know it's a little early for you out there on the West Coast, but it will be your birthday here, in just a few...so...

Here is the tentative schedule for the GabFest...exact dates yet to be determined.

***GABFEST 2016***

Schedule of Events

Thursday
7:00pm â€" 9:00pm             Meet and Greet
9:00pm - ???                      Pub/Casino Crawl through Las Vegas

Friday
10:00am â€" 1:00pm           Extraterrestrial Hwy to Area 51
1:30pm â€"   3:00pm           Little A’Le’Inn Coctails and lunch
4:30pm â€"   8:00pm           Happy Hour at Dino’s Lounge/Dinner at Chicago Joes Italian Restaurant
9:00pm -    ???                   Drunken karaoke at Ellis Island

Saturday
10:00am â€" 12:00pm        Atomic Testing Museum
12:00pm â€" 4:00pm          Party Bus to Hoover Dam or Art's House/BLM or The Mob Museum

9:00am â€" 10:00am           Brunch at Peppermill/Farewells
that's a pretty ambitious schedule. My time there would be more along the lines of doing the meet and greet and the pub crawl and then poker tournaments and chasing tail. In the daytime I like to drink poolside and then chase more tail and play some craps. Of course doing a gabcast would be great.

I've been through Kansas but have never stayed there.  That may change after WhiteCrow's Eclipse party. ;)

Meeting Noory is right above shaving my balls with a broken bottle on my list of things that sound exciting. He will dazzle you with some Elvis karaoke, and then he will get 86'd from the bar for disturbing the peace. As Keith would say, "it's fun to be had by all, for sure"

We could all learn a thing or two from Noory:  don't bring a change of clothes - luggage just slows you down, how to enjoy a good mud hole while strolling through an alley after dark, what to drink while singing karaoke, how not to meet women... the list goes on.

And surprise a window cleaner in your hotel after you demand Tommy go out to buy you more clothes and, presumably, standing around in all your glory. I recall something about that? By the way, didn't he say at one point that Alex pushed him?

What general months are you looking at for the gathering, Chefist?

The gun range might be cool.

A bunch of armed bellgab posters hitting up Vegas, what could possibly go wrong

New videos up, not much to see but he does close the vid with The Baby Elephant Walk.

Must resist the low hanging fruit.

Eh, I think a bunch of Bellgabbers firing Berettas and AK-47s at Bin Laden targets after a few drinks could be cathartic, and help forge a lasting peace.

Oh goody, he bought himself another present: a Windows laptop.  Why?  Because "UHHHHHHH.....UMMMMMMM....UHHHHHH..." it will help him improve the quality of his Gabcast participation.  Yes, you read that right -- Senda's biggest quality defect, in his eyes, is the lack of enough toys.

I hope all of you well-meaning but utterly deluded fools who sent him money to cover his essentials are paying attention.  Senda is a con man, a grifter, and a pizza-slurping rectal wart.  He is the greasy, wrinkled testicle endlessly slapping against the chins of all you "donators" out there.

On the plus side, MV probably got 50 times what that laptop is worth by dumping it onto Senda.  Nothing down and 8% interest per month.

did i suggest you invite noory?  i only recall saying i think he'd accept if invited.  either way, i think it would be a hoot to see him there.
Will he be passing out complementary glasses to Bellgabbers in order to win their support?

George, when's the last time you saw Area 51?

Never have.
Next to Roswell & attending a game in every major league ballpark, it's # 3 on my bucket list.
# 2 if Kate Upton's on the tour bus with me.

Haven't received the laptop yet.
MV had to get an SSD drive for it first.
Should get it in about a week.
First installment of $46 was paid for in full yesterday.
The other $30 will be paid in full on Friday.
The only reason I didn't pay it in full was that I had to get groceries and cat food.
And praise MV indeed for being nice enough to sell it to me.

I bought red berry Special K & Raisin Bran & found out that Fuzzy does NOT like Sheba Pate.
Neither does Boop.

( The outdoor kitties liked it. ).

Kathy was eating franks and beans tonight and Boop came over and started eating the sauce from the beans.
She also likes to drink from Kathy's milk glass & thinks that Kathy's water is for drinking as well.
Kathy has to pour two glasses, one for her and one for Boop.
She never knows what Boop will decide to try out next.

I smiled upon seeing the little singing smilies.😍

Nice balloons.
Now if some strippers were behind them...

With my luck, they'd be demented hairy paint strippers.🙀

Sounds like a Noory submerging artist group.
Or the official Chefist gossip thread band.
But how would one tell the difference ?

Hmm, does that thread need an official song as well ?
Suggestions anyone ?

Thanks for the kind wishes, Brig.

Share the love kind sir.

Next time he hosts the gabcast Bell gabbers should all send him food from different places and the poster whose food arrives first wins.

I bet Senda's frothing at the mouth with that great idea.

IT WAS HIS BDAY. beyond that, anyone sending him more food is putting him in an early grave.
you gotta live with that.

$20.

But it depends on the amount of the bill of course. I'm not sure what the rule of thumb is anymore for tipping. 15% ?
Some places automatically include/add a tip in addition to the bill.
I tip well if I get good service and good food.
If the food is not good, I say something about it.
I'm much more diplomatic about it than Kathy is.

And I've already said that I will leave the girl a tip this Friday.
After she left, I saw I had six dollars lying on the table.
If I'd seen it, I would have given it to her for her trouble.

Wow.
Let me tell you.. When you have NO money, you sure as shit don't forget you have six bucks on the table. smh wow
