Doubtful. I think they realized if Art Bell wouldn't be coming back, then they would sub in his largest competitor once Premiere smelled blood in the water. Now do you regret the decision, Art?

It would make sense, business-wise, for Premiere to do whatever they could to keep art off the air. George is their golden boy, their cash cow, and their flagship broadcaster. Art is his one and only real threat, at this point.

Well, there you go! Coast To Coast is back on SiriusXM in place of Art Bell. My hunch is Clear Channel called SiriusXM last week, and offered a deal where Coast To Coast gets Art's old slot. In exchange, SiriusXM will hold Art to the non-compete, thereby eliminating ANY competition from Art for 2 years. Back room deal. No doubt. If I were Art, I'd be pissed and the mere thought of "hurting" the program he built (Coast) would not phase me. Like Peter Lassaly (former Johnny Carson and David Letterman honcho) once told Letterman in 1993 when NBC offered to can Leno in favor of hiring Letterman: "Dave, the show you now want is not the Johnny Carson Tonight Show, it's the Jay Leno Tonight Show. It's tarnished goods."  So Art, don't worry about the old show. It's not the Art Bell Coast To Coast, it's the George Noory Coast To Coast. It's tarnished goods.
