New Forum Organization

With Art's return to radio drawing nearer, some obvious reorganization of the forum has been needed.  I've separated most of the C2C/Noory topics into a child board located under "Talk Radio/Podcasts."  There is still more work to be done in the "Art Bell's Guests" and "Art Bell's Topics" sections. 

I'm interested in comments on how the reorganization is being approached.

Well..I'm approaching it on a vector of 050m at FL 25..I'm hoping ATC will allow me to descend to an altitude where I can acquire the ILS and let the aircraft make an automatic landing on runway 4..Thank you for flying with us. Please ensure you take all your belongings, children, fake Rolex's and STD's with you when you leave the aircraft. We look forward to meeting you again soon..well, obviously not us in the cockpit because we're locked in, and therefore thankfully we don't have to interact with the proles who turn right when they come through the door.

But it seems like a lot of clicking around to find the places I want to go.
It doesn't feel intuitive just yet.

After the launch of Art's new show, you could ostensibly shrink the forum to two main forums:  Art Bell and George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium.  ;-)

I like the "Coast to Coast AM stuff" category, but I myself would have it on the top page with it's own button, instead of being listed as a 'child board', whatever that is.  At least until the postings about George and the rest fade away on their own schedule

Maybe under the 'Things and Such' section list this 'C2C Stuff' category first, followed by 'Other Talk Radio/Podcasts', 'General Discussion' and the rest.

Not sure if you were serious or not, morgus, but I agree with you.  Coast to Coast AM forum makes it sound like a fan site.  In a way it is, but not in the way most people would think of one.

Seriously though, I think it's a good idea and in the nick of time too.

Heck, you guys have me pretty well convinced to do the Sirius trial even though my budget's beyond tight.

I'd recommend going for at least the 30 day trial and, as Morgus has suggested, try to get them to lower the monthly charge at the end of the trial period.

when people click on the "coast to coast" board, the first thing they'll see is the GNS thread stickied right there in bold at the top.  that should be good enough.

i don't want to give the impression that the forum has some sort of "official position" on noory because there is no official position.  it's an organic thing that the community shapes on its own.  i would just as well have stickied a "noory rocks" thread if it could get any consistent traffic.  it can't.

It isn't like there haven't been any attempts by posters to suggest Dave has merit. And he may have, but whatever his talents may be, they aren't noticeable enough to get any continuing life in any thread. And I have looked several times... I can't find any site with any significant positive noory postings.

the other night when all of the hoopla was going down between this forum and noory, the server was having trouble keeping up.  when i noticed this i disabled the "recent posts" section on the main page, and problem fixed.  no more failed or delayed page loads.
