I wonder what happened to this guy. He sounded very genuine and did some of the best native american prophecy shows ever.

Morgus

I never heard of a 'Black' Elk, but there used to be a c2c guest that used the name 'Red' Elk, but he sounded crazy going about dang lizard people under the earth...

and talking to rocks and trees and clouds.  It's gotta be "red elk" your thinking of.  I have all of his shows with Art saved.  Even though he was nuts he was still fun to listen to.  Kinda like Mel and his hole.

think he's related to "Red Bull?"

I always thought it was funny that when Red Elk made his first appearance on C2C he had a very slight "Native American" accent but on his second he suddenly had a thick accent and spoke in choppy English.

Reminds me of that "Robert Ghostwolf" guy, who was actually Italian and a total fraud.

They're like plastic paddies. You can find many imitation injuns in old westerns. Chief Dan George and Will Sampson were real Native Americans. Iron Eyes Cody was a wop, though.

Yeah Art had a couple supposedly Native American regular guests on back in the 90s a lot and even he confused them since they both had a first name of Robert:
Robert Ghostwolf and Robert Morningsky

Sean Connery was the same ...... listenable in his earlier movies ...
His present day Scots brogue-ishness ........ unintelligent mumbles ....
He sounds like he could do with better quality dentures ...... but, you know what 'they' say about the Scottish.
Aaaaaaarrrrhhh ..... (Scottish translation)  How rrrrrrr yeeeeew?

Heȟáka Sápa (Black Elk) (December 1863 â€" August 19, 1950) was a famous Wičháša Wakȟáŋ (Medicine Man and Holy Man) of the Oglala Lakota (Sioux).

wait so this guy DID actually exist? He never appeared on the Art show tho? not that I know of anyways.

The names are easy to confuse. I would like to point out a forum I discovered called NAFPS New Age Frauds and Plastic Shamans) that calls out SCORES of fake Indians, usually making money with ceremonies, instruction, and so on, most of it garbled. James Arthur Ray, the Sedona sweat lodge guy who had 3 people die on his watch was an extreme example. Anyway, I discovered it when I heard Kymberlee Ruff on CtC one night. She was mixing Indian and Tibetan teachings among other things, and it just didn't sound right so I googled her and discovered NAFPS. There are a lot of Cosst to Coast guests on there, mostly healers, authors and self-promoters. Evidently this fake Indian business is a huge industry. Who knew? Many are relatively harmless, but some a long-time con artists with extensive criminal records and patterns of exploitative and abusive behavior. And of course it's very disrespectful to the real Indians and their history and religion.

Oh, and both Morningsky and Ghostwolf have been called out by NAFPS.

Yes, I should have mentioned that.

Morgus

I recall a guy called "Red Elk" on c2c before.

Yorkshire pud

Is this the guy who claimed there was a giant bird flying around? That no-one else had seen! And being singular, it clearly had no means to reproduce. (He overlooked that bit!)
