Art Bell has made his endorsement...

I don't understand his politics.  He was a conservative leaning libertarian

Yeah, I don't get it.  I think the older generation still thinks that the Democrat party is still the party of JFK and FDR.  Obama leans socialist by any measure.  Whatever, Art.

I can see Art voting O the first time around.  Fool me once.
But why anyone supports him now befuddles me.
Because look at his replacement.. seriously, Romney? fuck me.. God forbid, imagine Paul Ryan being President...That scares the shit out of me.

And Biden doesn't?

Sardondi

Well, what scares me is PA is gone and now WI. And FL, VA & NC too close to call yet? It's all over. I'm going to bed. And I may stay there.

Art's politics changed completely after his new marriage.  8)

Obama picked Biden for several reasons.

The first reason was - he wasn't Hilary.  Obama knew enough to not be standing between the Clintons and the Presidency.

The next reason was - I don't think that many senior Democrats wanted to run with Obama, you know - the Marxism, anti-Americanism, and pro-Jihadi stuff

That left Biden - Obama could make the case in not choosing Hilary that Biden had better Foreign Policy credentials (as Sen Foreign Relations Chairman, a post he got thru seniority not ability) and could move legislation through Congress having been there for 50 years.  Not thathe was actually competent at either though as it turns out - but that wasn't the point of it.

did carl rove just say obama's lead in florida has grown?

MV/Liberace!

the first time since 1972 that both candidates on a ticket have lost their home states.

The Corrupt Media has called races incorrectly in the past in an effort to demoralize voters out West.  City precincts usually come in first and they lean Dem, we still have to wait and see.

That piece-of-shit Christie sure didn't help by campaigning with and providing photo ops for Obama down the stretch - everone remember that when he comes sniveling around for your support in a future Repub Primary.

They should have compared Obama unfavorably to Katrina - that should have been the message last week.

tommy thompson lost.  good.  i never liked that spook.

For Obama would that be Kenya, Indonesia, Hawaii, USSR, the al-Qaeda Republic, Illinois, or Connecticutt (where he somehow got his SS number without ever living there)?

fox news hasn't called any of the crucial swing states yet, but the tone is obviously that of an imminent romney defeat.

Pragmier

Florida results might trigger a recount and there's still some voting.

I've had to stop listening to news all together. Too much jibjab. I'll be back in an hour to checkup.

I can't believe that:

1. Roseanne Barr ran for president.
2. She has 10000 votes as of 9:30 CST according to google.

Do you mean Illinois?  Because Obama's winning Illinois.

I come from a country where it is compulsory to vote ($20 penalty for not voting). What do you Americans think? Should voting be compulsory? Would it have any impact on the result? Do people who don't vote have any right to complain about the result?

Actually, there is a lot of thinking in Libertarian circles that the Dems are much closer to Libertarian's than the GOP.  In a nutshell, the differences between the two are minute in fiscal matters (from a libertarian viewpoint), but huge from a social perspective.  And the Dems and libertarians are very, very close on most social issues - gay marriage, abortion, legalization or decriminalization of pot and prostitution, etc. Check out isidewith.com. If you lean libertarian (as I do), you might find you are much further from the GOP than you think (i know I am).

Only people that care enough to at least nominally follow what's going on and pay attention all year 'round should be voting - I'm tired of people saying everyone has an obligation to vote.  Everyone has an obligation to educate themselves, but if they don't please don't tell them to vote anyway.

Studies have shown it doesn't have much impact - as a group the non-voters would usually have voted the way the actual voters did if they had voted.

Yes people have the right to complain because we seldom end up with good candidates from either party, we get the ones the Corrupt Media chooses to report on and give name recognition to rather than some better candidates that the media ignores - not voting as a protest is one option we have (although not what I'd do).

The cable news networks just reported cases of voting fraud in Ohio and some polling judges were fired.
Apparently many people were allowed to vote though they were not registered and the final date for registering was back in October.
The recounts in Ohio plus hundreds of thousands of other ballots there could go on for weeks.

I agree with this except I see a difference between the Conservatives and the Republican 'Establishment' in the R party.  I hold out hope the Conservatives can wrestle the party away from the McCain/McConnell/Hatch/Graham types.

The Conservatives are closer to the Libertarians in fiscal matters than the Dems and the Establishment R's, and they have a better chance of gaining enough power to change things than the Libertarians do, unfortunately.  The problem comes when the 'Christian Right' among the Conservatives clash with the Social minded Libertarians.

2 judges were fired.  a republican and democrat.

romney wins NC.

Akin, Mourdock and Walsh all defeated.  Looks like the GOP "let's run a bunch of rape philosophers" strategy was ill advised.

Can you imagine? Really, it's frightening to think that 10 would vote for that walking bag of syphilis. I'm all for pranks, and shit and giggles...but anybody casting a for her needs to be sterilized immediately.

romney wins NC.

Carnac is now officially conceding that "347" prediction. Obama wins...but probably 313 will be his final tally.

Thanks. I never understood why we (Australians) are forced to vote. I however always would vote anyway. What are the projected % figures of elligible voters who vote in the US?

John Smith

I'd say this wins for funniest tweet of the night: "The Rape guy lost." "Which one?" Your political party has serious issues if people have to ask, "Which one?!"
