A question about the C2C hosts

Who do y'all think would be the most likely to leave permanently in the nest few years? I'm thinking Ian Punnett and then George Noory.

Punnet for sure is next to go.

On Friday, Noory said he would like to stick around for another 10 years.
I am not sure if that was prerecorded though-they seem to be sticking on prerecorded bits for the last 30 minutes of the shows on Fridays.

BigDave

They could just slide in Clyde Lewis to take Punnett's spot

And they could just slide in a steaming pile of dogshit to take Noory's spot.

Yeah the last half hour on Friday's show was an old replay from part of a past show.
Noory does that a lot on Fridays to cut out early.

But he keeps pushing back his retirement date anyway.
Originally when he first took over the main host job about 10 years ago, he infamously told of picking Dec 21, 2012 as his retirement date.
But when he kept getting longer network contract renewals, a few years back he started claiming he now has no fixed retirement date and plans on staying in the job for many more years.
So I wouldn't expect him to retire or quit anytime soon, only the network could change those plans.

Noory won't leave until they pry the mic from his cold, dead hands.

I thought about all that was left to show Ian was ever a part of C2C was a few tweeted pics. It's as if he's already being put down the memory hole before he's actually out the door.

George seems to use that revolving 10-years window an awful lot. Didn't he say several years ago something about leaving in 2012? But that was back when 2012 seemed a long way off. Now he doesn't use a date certain, just this never-shortening "another 10 years". Damn.

If sNoory quietly died on the air, with most guests we wouldn't know anything was wrong for at least a half-hour. We'd think the guest had said something that distracted George, and that he was googling away.

yep, that was Noory's original retirement plan back in 2002 - 10 years ago...  8)

Too bad Noory didn't keep his retirement promise 10 years ago.  I would have been nice to start 2013 with a new host.  That being said, even if he does ever retire, I suspect (or predict) the problem will not improve much.  George is a terrible host, but the infrastructure behind him is pathetic as well.  George is faulty, but so too are the producers and management who have knowingly allowed the show to degrade and fall apart.

I'm thinking Noory is at the helm of a sinking ship.  Coast may be toast before any of the current hosts depart.  "Ground Zero" popped-up pretty suddenly.  I never heard anything in advance.   You may tune in some night and find something else in place of C2C.  Then again, it may just be wishful thinking.  The only way we'll get rid of Noory is for C2C to sink.

Do you think Clyde Lewis is being groomed to take over C2C and rename the whole thing Ground Zero?

Quite honestly, I'm not really sure what to make of "Ground Zero."  Maybe I missed something, but one night I tuned in expecting to hear a replay of the previous night's C2C and there was Clyde.  I've caught a few of the shows and have to admit Lewis has a good voice and a presence but seems to be a conspiracy nut and can be really "in your face" with callers.  Last night I heard him say he had personally researched it and he knew Prince Harry was the Anti-Christ.  :o   He's certainly different from milk toast, mindless, mumbling Noory, though.

However, just the way "Ground Zero" popped-up out of nowhere makes me wonder if something more is in the works.  C2C has been around for awhile and even Premrat may finally be looking to pull the plug on the Noory crap fest.  Who knows what Premrat is thinking.

Gassy Man

I heard a little bit of Clyde Lewis last night . . . he sounds like one of those local guys they put on the air to fill a spot from 3 a.m. to 4 a.m.  In fact he sounds a lot like a guy we have here in town . . . still he's a lot more interesting to listen to than any of the Coast hosts except George Knapp.  So, if they replaced Coast to Coast with Clyde, I'd probably give it a try.

I think our local channel has replaced C2C with Clyde Lewis.  I was flipping channels last night, and Clyde Lewis' show was on, not C2C.  This was 770 in Seattle-Tacoma.
