Your observation that a pro-Art bias exists in a forum named after him is not up to your usual standards of acuity.

I think it's possible to be pro-Art without dismantling your critical faculties at the same time. In any case, I never really know what it means to be 'pro' anyone in this situation - liking someone in one facet of their lives does not entail me liking everything else. The point I was trying (and, from your point of view, obviously, failing) to make was that a similar accusation levelled against Noory would be flogged for all it was worth. I can't think of anything that could be said about Noory that most people here wouldn't sign off on. Compared to the vilification Noory has received, Art has had it easy.

YES, the topic that DP brought up is a very sensitive one...one that brings up a bad time and memories for the Bell family.

I get that some of you feel that doing this was insensitive, inappropriate, maybe even cruel...I get that.

Again, I repeat <sigh> that all this has been public knowledge for a very long time ( 1997). There has been more than a plethora of chat, remarks on the internet since that time in many places...it is NOTHING NEW!!! 

Folks that want nice...stay on the Bella Haven thread, drink coffee and sing Kumbaja...otherwise put the internet on "ignore" and find something else to do that doesn't ruffle your sensibilities.

Generally, I find your thinking to be logical. But here, not so much. I think the fact that the subject is nothing new and public knowledge is irrelevant to the issue of someone now deciding to use it as a weapon. The effect is the same, not just on Art, but on everyone who chooses not to live in a pile of filth.

You can say it's the Internet, take it or leave it, but the Internet is and will be what people make of it. Same goes for this site in particular. I'd rather hang out in a place that's halfway decent, if that's not asking too much. Maybe it is. We are living in a time when people feel free to redefine words and ideas as they see fit, "halfway" and "decent" among them.

By the way, we all miss the Old West. So free, so romantic. But civilization and the rule of law did envelope the country. Not such a bad thing overall.

At the same time it seems he was trying to prove a point...the point being that perhaps Art doesn't always tell the whole truth...that's all. Unfortunately the example he chose perhaps was not a great choice but an illustration of what he was trying to prove. Does that make him a stalker or does that make him someone who believes in what he thinks, expresses it, etc.

Have you ever read any of the other vile things that have been posted and discussed about Art Bell for over a decade or more all over the net? ( I will not refer to them here)...ever heard of anonymous coward?...there are many others.

As far as I am aware, Art never went after them, never wanted to know their true identity, so why now with DP?...diversionary tactic away from the real alleged stalker?..to rally the sychophants? ...why?

What does customer service have to do with anything going on here?

Bottom line, we either still have the freedom of speech or we don't...albeit PC'ness has already eroded that entire premise.

When Art Bell goes after all the other people who have accused him of whatever, call them stalkers, go after the Gunderson video which is all over the net, then I will believe how infuriated and "afraid" he is of this alleged "stalker" = DP

Until then, IMHO Art's response is beyond ludicrous, especially since he allegedly has a "real" stalker taking shots at him/his family, yet he doesn't seem to be doing anything much about that now is he? ( that we know of).

Yet he takes his daughter out in the snow in the middle of the night where this boogey stalker is, and that's safe and cool...but spends his day watching cars drive by his house....yet it is not safe for him to walk between his house and studio to do MITD...but it IS safe for him to still live there and do nothing....but he's going to go after DP now as his stalker??

This is worse than a grade B movie and more than less believable  :
