He may be at that.. however, I'm not sure what I would do in his situation, because I'm not Art Bell. I don't come with his decades of radio experience, the personal history he has, a young wife and child to protect (well, I'm not the man in my family)..  I just don't know what would take me out at 70.  This might be it.

What I don't get it what happened between him talking about installing lights around his home, and tonight's announcement? Couldn't he have had this conversation with his family about what they/he should do before investing in more money? I think it's a tad confusing.

It's probably just a local mental patient who chose Art because he is on the air and has a long reach. Therefore the activities of the stalker will be known worldwide, what publicity! And knowing Art, of course he will talk about it. So the stalker in the end probably doesn't want Art off the air, otherwise why not just sneak up to his radio shack during broadcast and end it?

It makes no sense.. unless it's a very select hand full of people we could all easily come up with at the same time.  His show, as interesting as it's been at times on MITD, has not been anywhere near as enlightening yet as it was during the good ol' days. I don't buy that it's some nut who wants to get Art before he spills all the beans about life on another planet or some BS.
