I keep meaning to go through the list of supposed affiliates on the MITD website to see which ones are really still airing the show (and not getting around to it).  I probably won't coz it's a lot of work and I actually have a life, but I bet the number is way down.

If you wait just a little longer, the job will be really easy  ::)

I have to admit I found it weird how Keith absolutely refused to ever consider being able to pay for the TT subscriptions with a major credit card.
How much of  fucking loser do you have to be that PayPal won't take you? Are you some kind of fucknozzle?

Great point.  Although some auto-pay systems with credit cards fail to conform to PCI (security) compliance, and that could have been an issue, I believe it is more for the security of "cash" payments that can be immediately turned around to pay bills, etc.

Something else, is the avoidance of charge backs.  If someone's got a subscription for Art Bell / MitD and then AB leaves...  Months later, someone could come back and say "I bought the subscription because I was going to miss the show for many months and the guy left in December!"  Most Platinum and many gold cardholders, would have their card company stand behind them and force a refund.

Paypal sucks royally.  I had a series of releases that I owned the masters, controlled the publishing, licensed the artwork and PayPal tried to pull money from my account as one person (who bought the entire collection) complained that they were counterfeits.  I pulled the money out of that account and closed it prior to the money being taken back.  I went to selling the remainder via Amazon, made more money per sale and had better exposure too.

Never went back to PayPal/eBay.

I feel we have made lots of progress tonight.
Though it might be it cheaper, and maybe more insightful, when wants to be analyzed, to call a plumber on weekend and just talk to him about our Art Bell issues. Not cheap, mind you, unless you can find an illegal, but cheaper than the professional- and he would likely give better advice. Like "move the fuck on."" Or "who? There is no leak here!"

Interesting, haven't thought of that angle. I think, I've been banned due to another issue with regard to PayPal that I've mentioned long-ago, but doesn't PP also allow refunds for a fraudulent transaction or dispute?

Ciardelo

You people that can't somehow manage a credit score good enough for PayPal must be around 300 lol

Do you all even pay your rental TV's on time?

Time Traveler accounts wouldn't qualify for fraud and the dispute windows are much smaller (they were something like 45-days, if I recall correctly).

Ok, I'll grant you that. But as a long-term seller on an online marketplace...usually it's the deadbeats that have problems with PayPal.

Ah.  Good point.  Maybe Keith, realizing that Art might bail early, didn't want to deal with credit card companies suddenly pulling their funds as their customers complained the product they had paid for wasn't really there anymore.

It's amazing. I've had my paypal account since about 1999, I have bought over 600 transactions off eBay and at least that many off of other websites, and I have never had a problem. I had an issue one time with an item I never received from the seller and got a refund within 30 days.

I never use my bank account with them though, I always use a credit card, so that gives me an extra layer of protection.

You don't recall shit cali. And if you had a major credit-card you could use it and get double protection. So you don't have cash or credit and yet you still bleat about heather LOLOLOL

Faustina

I paid for my TT account with Paypal, although I would have preferred to use my VISA -- it has better Buyer Protection.  Cancelled the recurring payment when Art left the show.

Frankly, those who can't take credit cards are more to blame than someone who chooses not to expose themselves through PayPal.  Nearly anybody can receive money via PayPal but you've got to have good credit to receive credit cards directly.

Also, at $20,000 or 200 transactions, they report you to the IRS.

boxman

That carrot has been pulled away too many times for it to have any effect.
The only way anyone will resubscribe is by actually putting in effort and hosting this show on a regular basis at least a few days every single week.
And even then it is going to take alot of time before anyone trust that Art wont quit again a week later.

What kind of poor busted fucknozzle couldn't scrape together 5 bucks? Ha! LOLOL

You can use the same Visa, and receive the same protection by listing that as the funding source in PayPal.

I've never had a problem with them, but I've heard lots of horror stories from Ebay sellers who've had their funds frozen for months because they exceed their monthly $ selling limits and paypal needs to investigate the issue.

GS, if you receive money, at least in my case, they send it to a US-based bank.
