This post actually made me laugh really loud (quite a feat after reading bmcintyre's post to me telling me to "blow" someone...What a neanderthal.)! I could not agree with you more, and I did not take the whole Oates incident into account when I replied to George. I was just sending a human response to someone who has been shredded on here (some of it rightly so, i.e. having Oates as a guest). I've made countless posts on here and Art Bell's thread so I never thought I'd be confused with being a "fan" of George, but I digress. Anyway, thank you for the introspective and quite hylarious response! You've a talent there, you know. :)

Thanks and yeah, I think you're spot on with your human response to George. That's how I felt. Even still most people were ok, and George said he liked the humor, but there were a few that wanted to drive him off the board and be malicious and that seemed ridiculous.

But, after Oates, there will be no Christmas card for George this year. Maybe next year, but he had better be damned nice to Art. But even then it will be written curtly and end with "Good day to you, sir!" instead of "Hoaglands and lovebunnies from your listenerpoos" as is my usual way. That should teach him real good.

No one ever said they didn't want more than one show.  They said George Noory is unlistenable.

That he had Oates on is interesting - and additional suckage - but it didn't really move the needle.

Oh there are a few that wanted Noory cancelled and living in the gutter. I think Oates moved the needle from sucks to mean-spirited.

I don't get all this stuff really.  This is a forum board and people play on it and it can get dramatic. People will pop in to suggest something that hasn't been said already.  What one writes on a forum board regarding a public figure doesn't necessarily mean they would treat that person the same way in person. As one who asked that George be banned, I did it purely for dramatic effect - nothing more nothing less.  As a public figure, George invites any and all comments on his hosting and it is all a fair game.
I like the saying "Don't sweat the small stuff." and "95 percent of it is small stuff."
George makes way too much money to be bothered by any of this. If I thought there was actual harm being done to him, I would not do it.
I think picking on the kid that Art had on, Jeremy, is where people have gone to far and they should mellow out a bit.    JMO

I do not think anyone wanted anything bad to happen to him.  I think the Oates move further defined his desire to "change."  Personally, I recall being very nice to him.  For what it was worth.

If you were given this type of opportunity or in general, for work, don't you try to do the best you can? I believe that George does not even try.  Or has to.  He gets by with minimal effort and lives for being a celebrity and meeting celebrities in California.

Agreed.

This forum wasn't intended for George to read.  I mean he can read it.  But it's not him that members are trying to reach.

George wanted to go up to the edge, and look into the abyss.

He didn't like what he saw, so he pulls some boo hoo victim bullcrap line.

Tough George.  You wanted to see what was here.  If you don't like it.  Don't read it

Why do you hate the first amendment Jorch?

F'ing crybaby.

As long as George has 4 legs and one arm, he will ensure that our constitutional rights are upheld. If you dont believe me, call him.

I have a kind of hierarchy of expectations and criticism here. It goes like this:

Art, George, other C2CAM Hosts -> professional guests like RCH/LMH -> novice guests like Jeremy Meador -> Callers

The hosts are supposed to be professionals. I have the highest expectations for them. If you are going to host a national radio program, you should have a thick skin and be able to maturely respond to legitimate criticism. You should also know when it is best to not respond at all, and definitely not resort to childish behaviour. Especially in a public forum full of critics.

The professional guests like RCH who have been established for years, likewise, must take the heat of that kind of exposure or GTFO.

Now the novice callers? Jeremy Meador? He has growing up to do, and he has responded very badly in the aftermath of his appearance. But I don't expect him to sound as polished as repeat guests. Other than the cell phone issue, his worst offense was being boring. I listened to the program after reading much of the live thread, and I don't think Art was anywhere near as bothered by him as some people on this board. Harassing him on his personal blog is inexcusable. At some point, when it becomes obvious your target is not listening to you, the harassment becomes more about you than him.  Insult his young age and inexperience, then get angry when he reacts like a young inexperienced person? Well, what did you expect to happen?

George Noory should feel bad about the current state of C2CAM, and probably lose his job. But I don't wish him any harm.

I want him to read all my posts that relate to him and his show, and have all along.

If he had any real desire to improve, this board has more and better information than he could ever get anywhere else. It was really strange that he asked for suggestions on how to get better.  There was already 1000 pages of it to go through.

Why?  He is only going to argue any critique anyways.  He has thin skin.  Like I said, he wanted to see what the public thought first hand, paid his admission, and didn't like what he saw.  Tough potatoes.

He isn't going to take advice. He is just going to go back to nipping and napping on commercial breaks and surfing Craigslist and eBay while on-air.  He has no interest in advice.  That's a ruse.  We can't teach him anything except reality.

Either he logged in one last time to change his avatar, or you're just fucking with us now, MV.  Did you change his avatar?   If I had such powers, I'd use them every day.

ItsOver

This thread has certainly slowed to a crawl.  Art's return has accomplished what Dave desired but couldn't achieve on his own.  Dave sure sucks at everything.

Gsucky leaves the board with his fake hair between his legs.

Gsucky = johnny from 2012 HAHAHAHA (It's definitely him because of...................his writing style)

I tried to fall asleep to a Noory show last week and couldn't stand it. Luckily there are plenty of other options on Sirius, including a Dark Matter rerun

Tonight's guest, James Barrat (disucssing AI) is excellent.
GN asked if the future would have robocop running around protecting the streets. Finally a stupid question I approve of.
I just wish the guest would have snuck in an "I'd buy that for a dollar."

Well, this will teach me.

After Art (and that wonderful rendition of "Midnight in the Desert" by Crystal Gayle--I didn't know she wrote it for Art!) I turned on C2C.

For one minute.  Guest apparently talking about artificial intelligence and smart machines:

George:  tell us about that intervention.

Guest:  INVENTION.  The word is INVENTION!

George: oh, my notes say "intervention"

One minute too long for me!

It sounds like C2C is playing the bumper music at a 10% faster rate (or something like that).

The radio was still on in the kitchen when I went into shape the loaves (decided to make bread tonight.)  The guest was talking about a program called automated insights that writes really good sports articles.  Feed in the stats, out comes an article ready to be published.  George seems "fashionated" that this might replace writers.

Suddenly I broke out laughing thinking of all the times I questioned if George is even in the studio or if Tommy just sits there pressing the "play" button to bring up different pre-recorded questions and grunts.  Perhaps Georges job could be outsourced to Automated Insights (or perhaps it already has been?)

Why does he always look so greasy?

That picture makes him resemble a terrorist.  I thought the show on psychopaths the other night was interesting.  I was listening in my car on the way home from my second job, and it was good enough I youtubed it the next day to listen in.   GN wasn't fantastic, but the guest was interesting and so were the callers.   I liked the guy who said he'd stab you in the back without blinking an eye even if he had been your friend for forty years.    Fascinating!   Sadly, it was more interesting than tonight (last night)'s Dark Matter.   That Michael Heiser guy - breath intake - is an idiot.  Breath intake.

Dave can't have it.
I wonder if there is some way to turn that cat into a successories poster or internet meme.

In other news, has anyone noticed an increase in advertisements targeting customers to whom religion is important?
For example, I am hearing lots of Christian Mingle and God Said Man Said dot com commercials.

Bumper music, definitely faster.

Doesn't matter.  He still needs to hear it.  Clearly it bothers him, or he wouldn't bring up 'thuh haters' all the time.

If he'd rather be publicly ridiculed for ruining a once great show and have his suckage documented for anyone to see - if he'd rather have that than put effort into his show - then so be it.

If he wants to send insulting email responses at a second grade writing level to people that send him constructive criticism, he shouldn't be surprised when he finds the kind of things that get posted here.

I'm in full agreement.   Except that I wouldn't call it constructive criticism.  I'm just here to make sport of him.  Plain and simple.  No need to rationalize it.   Bottom line GNS.
