I like listening to Thom Hartman

He's a prophetic writer and has had a wonderful Progressive talk show for many years. Unlike so much of talk radio today, he is calm and intelligent.
My favorite is on Fridays he has Bernie Sanders on at lunch. :)

He was one of my favorites for quite a while, but don't get to listen much anymore because the station he was on here got sold. I also like Sam Seder who is similar and does a podcast called the Majority Report, but he doesn't get people on to debate as much.

I don't listen to him that much, but what I like about him is that he will go toe to toe with anyone who disagrees with him, and give them plenty of time to talk, unlike Rush, Hannity and the other usual flunkies who's only interest is to preach to the choir. And not Washington Generals type plants either, the guy shows up to right-wing confabs and waits for them to step up to the mike and challenge him.

did you mean prolific or prophetic writer?  I know he's written a lot of books.  I find him a little too pedantic and professorial.  Have you tried Norman Goldman?  He's pretty fun to listen to, and much more cheery than the doom and gloom Mike Malloy....

I gave Malloy a chance about 5 years ago. He is as hate filled as hannity, beck, and the rest.

Being liberal I tried to suppress the gag reflex. It was a no go.

I can't stand Norman Goldman, but he is far better than Ed Schultz where he got his start. Schultz is an idiot IMO. I like Malloy even if he is hate filled because I like his craziness. I can't listen to him too long though.

I had the opposite feeling about Hartmann's books. I thought it seemed like he was dumbing them down a little to appeal to a mass audience. I thought his show and discussions I've heard him in were far more intelligent sounding. I haven't read any of his medical type books though, nor have I read his JFK assassination book. I can see how that argument could be made about Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight, and maybe What Would Jefferson Do? though, but I don't remember them well enough to be sure.

Holy fucking shit.  I'm a total Seder junkie.  Can't believe that I'd encounter anyone else who would listen to him....

A lot of the crunchier liberals don't like Ed Schultz because he hunts, eats meat, and is an ex-jock and sportcaster.  He's a lot like the guys who beat them up in high school.  Ed has a more mainstream persona than an old hippie like Hartmann (who actually likes to shoot guns with his brothers, lol), and is therefore more palatable to more conservative people.

You can get MP3s of Hartmann's show by going on KTLK's website and clicking on the "On Demand" button.  For free.

I admit, I like Ed because he's a man's man. He wants to go fishin' in the morning and get home in time to watch his football and the damn corporate bloodsuckers with their GOP handmaidens like Boner and Cantor better keep their laissez-faire lovin' hands off his benefits so he doesn't have to worry while he's doin' it.

I've liked all the Seder shows; Majority Report, Sam Seder Show, Seder on Sundays, Maron vs. Seder, Break Room Live, and now Ring of Fire Radio when I can listen, and now the Majority Report again. He said before that he used to listen to C2C almost everyday, but can't anymore because he has a kid and can't stay up all night anymore. I think like almost everybody else he couldn't stand it anymore anyways. I might IM him to see if he ever listens anymore.

I don't dislike Schultz because he hunts or anything, I dislike him because he's an idiot.
