I went to bed and let it be the "white noise" that lulled me to sleep.

Ha! I actually did the same!  :D

Ohhh, I don't know, on streamlink it all happened pretty fast. I think I would have noticed if Deepak came on.
I might have to listen again...okay, I will make a point of that tomorrow.
My guess is a lot of that got edited out or something.

EvB

As I recall, VP - there was a definite Anglo-Indian accent - and George did call him "Deepak."  So, you may have to listen close.

Frys Girl

Anyone else in the Snoory Chat tonight?

someone just asked him "George did you exercise today?"
reply: not the way I should.

God have mercy. The questions are actually pretty good and specific.... "who influences you? who have you learned the most from?"

His answers are so f-ing vague that it's rude. "not one but many." "ive had so many great guests it's hard to say."

"hey george! have you heard about the salmon not returning to kodak alaska this year?"
gnoory: "another favorite dinner down the tubes."

I swear it's real. Thisis so funny.

yeah I think that his name was Mr. Announcer Dude ... I would have rather they prop his corpse up in front of the mic to host CTC instead of Noory. Noory is like a corpse that talks and utters something other than just the word "brains". Which is ironic to me ... cuz it is the one thing he lacks.
do u mean ross mitchell died?

also, snoors is paid millions of dollars per year to do that piss poor show he does, and it is based on the premise that he is "the talent."  however, he apparently has to go to tape backup when the phones fail.  he's like some lightweight small market host who can't swing it because he doesn't free associate very well.  how did he go nationally syndicated?  when i did my dopey internet show UNPAID from my god damn living room, i usually had to spend the entire broadcast talking to myself because nobody would call and i did not have guests.

i submit to you the following example:

http://ufoship.com/archive/nov 01 2006.mp3

from time to time, my friend tim would do the show with me, but this only happened about 50 percent of the time.  my point in saying this is to make the case that i did a far better job of it than noory ever could, and believe me when i tell you it is NOT in my nature to pound my chest like this.  i'm not a braggart.  i merely want it known that noory should be relieved of duty so that i can take his position.  thank you.

I'd vote for that.

Totally agree with your post ... Did net radio also ...had a kick ass studio in my old apartment and would broadcast to basically no one and would have more radio presence than Noory ... never had to revert to a clip if I was having problems or waiting for a caller. I would simply keep talking and work on picking the callers nerves to get them to call in.

No, not Ross. Some famous movie guy who did voiceovers for movies and movie trailers. He had a really deep voice and recently did those Geico comercials as himself, the voiceover guy.  He wasn't a household name, which is why I can't remember it.

I got whole shows ... but I have to go through tons of CDs to find them ... I actually did a Coast to Coast AM after show for awhile ... had tons of regulars on the old Coast Riders boards that would call in before they went to the Frogg Forums ... Will find some for ya.

It was Don LaFontaine actually ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_LaFontaine

They should really stop calling it open lines. Maybe rename it "listen to George blather with a third rate guest for two to three hours then field three or four calls from retards in the last hour." Really, just phase it out already. We all know George does not how to work without a script. Just because you call it open lines, doesn't actually mean there will be open lines. They seem to use it as an illusion to promote the idea that Noory is in  touch with audience. Art could fly through five calls in 10-15 minutes whereas it takes Noory an hour to do maybe six. I miss the spontaneity and general weirdness of Friday nights open lines so much.

And on another note, Has anyone else noticed how much He has been martyring himself all week with his whole Vancouver trip? Three times this week he has mentioned how he has to be in Vancouver Saturday morning and then has to hop on a flight to be back to do the show Sunday. Like this is some great feat of willpower, like he is sacrificing so much to do this show. Do us all a favor, miss your flight and let Ian or Knapp fill in. Honestly, I think I am done with the show.  Been listening to it falling asleep, but think I am just going to turn the radio off and close the C2C chapter of my life.

:'(   I agree - I only listen to the first hour or so on streamlink if there is a guest that's interesting . . .  As for the rest, Noory certainly knows how to kill something good . . .   >:(

Not only does Noron not know how to engage a guest or caller, he always cuts in with his asinine comments and anecdotes

"My daughter had a precognitive dream about 9/11"

What an idiot.

:P  That's probably why Stephen King refuses to go on C2C . . .   ;)

As we all know Noory has reliability issues with his "stories" and has been proven time & time again to either fabricate the whole thing or major parts of it. This is the first time I ever heard him tell this one, that in itself does not make it one of Noorys Fables but I say it's a major suspect. I say if this were true and did happen I would think he would have been pimping that story out and his daughters "precognitive" abilities that she had to get from him. I do not think it was genuine as I do not think one thing about Noory is genuine other than his ability to suck and kill terrestrial talk radio.

FUCK OPEN LINES ON FRIDAY (or any other day)
Friday is replete with good things for lots of ppl, how come fuck it up with EXTRA douchebaggery?? Makes me think of that old phrase referring to a lemon or faulty manufactured item, "Musta been built on a Friday..." referring to dingbat's ease into his gooberlicious weekend

Max

I agree with you about open lines... george can not do anything captivating and open lines is no exception. actually open lines is a day I wont listen... even if I were needing stuff to listen too..

KnyeGuy

I haven't been able to tolerate open lines even back when I didn't dislike Noory as much (yes I admit to thinking he was okay for awhile in the very beginning). He simply never was able to make open lines entertaining, especially with the call-filtering practice that he instituted.
And well as it has been said many times, the callers keep getting dumber as time goes on.

The WORST shit is when he pulls a prank on a caller pretending to be another caller whose line got crossed with theirs. UGHHHHHHHHHH! ! !

So yeah, fuck open lines.

One (hyphenated) word for Snoory's broadcast delivery/persona: CANDY-ASS

thank you  :)

I would compare listening to  the Friday Night lunacy with poking out an eye with some kind of kitchen implement.

open lines MAKE ME WANT TO do this to myself.  i would start by trying a pizza cutter.  if that didn't work, i'll move to rolling pin.  if that also failed, then i might try the less painful method of opting for a spoon, but frankly, open lines with noory make me want to opt for less efficiency and greater pain in the ol' eye removal department.

Snooron makes a terrible open lines host.  These are among his most painful shows to listen to.

Hi, Curtis. I I ran out of eyes and knives. Now, I just spoon peanut butter into my ears. It's the only way to listen on Friday nights.

Hi SN,  not a bad idea at all. ( not that I listen) but if I did  I'll definitely  try the peanut butter method.
It might be just crazy enough to work.

just found a guy, Kevin Smith, that talks similar topics to the OLD coast.  HE TAKES CALL UNSCREENED!.  Thats all that matters.  Its very enjoyable and he seems like a reasonable guy.  i have only been listening for an hour.  this might be posted in the wrong forum, but traffic is so light i wanted to make sure people saw it
