The DIA granted him a TS/SCI clearance. Most would consider that to be extreme vetting.

Then they might need to revise things. Especially if they didn't check his application was actually factual rather than alternative facts.

Yep.  They should have learned their lesson after having granted one to Hillary and having an SCF installed in her home.

...who as an ex general is forbidden to recieve money from foreign countries or companies without permission. He didn't declare it until the "fake press" pointed it out. Then a bit of a rewind, and the WH decided he should go because the VP had been lied to, seemingly unknowing about something the rest of the WH knew three weeks beforehand. Of course.

EAS DD214 he becomes a citizen. What he should have done was open up a foundation then he could have taken in a shit ton of money from everyone. That is where he screwed up hell he could have done that AND been in a public office big bucks.

Only hers was incompetence. His is deliberate association for profit with a foreign power without declaring it on his application for security clearance. Though I fail to see why it wasn't, nor why he had it granted with the videos of him and Putin and his article about Turkey. It was bound to come out. Trump either knew and didn't care, or didn't and should have.

I am sure his defense will be that his corporation took the funds, and that the funds came from legit companies that technically weren't a foreign government.

Hell, the work he did for Turkey seems to have been on a contract with a Dutch company.

I don't remember the questions on the security forms, but he might have answered them in a technically correct manner as an individual.

The fact that he registered after the fact as a foreign agent for Turkey, makes me wonder. Especially since he seems to have changed his stance on the Gulen extradition request in the fall of 2016.

So, bottom line is that Obama was incompetent since this started in 2015.

You don't think the Obama administration didn't know that the ex DIA chief was traveling to Russia and sitting next to Putin?  Or was this all ok then since he was a Democrat?  It all seems to have taken a turn once he supported Trump.

It seems to have taken a turn when he became NSA and didn't mention it. Even Pence was lied to apparently.

Your claims was that the act itself was illegal. The acts all happened before he became NSA. Trump dealt with the lies to Pence by canning him.

Not my claims. Claims the oversight committee have concluded.

Or...he could have followed Trump's example by using his government office to profit his personal businesses.

Right! She didn't profit from any of that and then try to cover it up.  ::) ;D

You'll no doubt be taking a similar robust attitude to Flynn and any others in the past or current Trump circus? Being the oracle of truth and all.

Like most things in DC, it is the coverup and talking around the truth that digs people a grave.

Like Martha Stewart. She didn't go to prison for insider trading. She went to prison for lying about it.

Trump should have known better than to appoint a Democrat.

Of course, he can always invoke the Hillary defense and say he had no intent of breaking the law.
If they want to "get someone" it is amazingly easy considering the amount of crimes on our books. But this one, making lying to any Federal official illegal, is an easy one to go with. Would that politicians could be prosecuted using a similar statute but applying to citizens.  ;)

I know a lot of contractors and have done some contracting myself. I am certain someplace he violated the letter of the law. Was it intentional fuck no was he acting as an agent come on. It is not like he setup a private server to conduct government business on......remember what scooter Libby got nailed on. He took a lesson from ltCol north.

President Trump’s First 100 Days

Quote
Everyone observing politics seems to agree on two things about a president’s first 100 days in office:

1. 100 days is a meaningless, arbitrary marker for a president’s performance that is likely to be more misleading than useful.

and…

2. Let’s treat it like it is important! Reeeeeeee!

The thing that fascinates me the most about this situation is that the so-called “pro-science” people are giving Trump low grades for his first 100 days.

Allow me to connect some dots.

It would have more mileage if it hadn't been for Trump making a bigly deal about it many times in his campaign, and the ten things he said he'd have completed in that time frame. Its only this week he's decided its no longer a shiny thing and not important.

Don't worry yourself about it, Pud. I just posted it for those who might welcome a break from the constant "did not! did, too!" arguments that dominate this thread.

Please yourself.
