I just remembered it`s JBW tonight and not GK.

Well, that sucks.

You said it, brother.

Wells sounds more together tonight.  I swear when last night's show started he was in some sort of induced daze.

Wells says 'we're off.. off on one tirade after another here on Coast to Coast AM' before going to commercial.

At least he demonstrates self-awareness.  There are some things I like about this guy.  He's more passionate about his interviews than Noory and that, at least, is a good thing.

I enjoyed the entire Saturday night show. And he is fine tonight. But more to come later. It is the first break. He is much better. Noory cannot do this. I am glad that it is good.

I tuned in tonight to see if Knapp was hosting, but unfortunately I got douche bag Wells.
I've not given him much of a chance, and I only listened to a couple of his very first shows So I thought I'd give him another chance.
I don't think I will make it to hour 2 tonight. This guy just bugs the shit out of me with his 'I'm so cool' attitude. He also thinks he is a tough guy and bad ass, is there a term " radio muscles"? He also sound like he is desperately trying to do an Art Bell impression.
In the first hour tonight during open lines, a caller questioned the decision of the Justice Dept to not offer Miranda rights  to the bomber, and wells (the tough guy bad ass) commented:
"As much as I pop off on this show, they might decide to take me down to Guantanamo some day. That would be OK with me, I could use a change of scenery".

I think he would be shitting his pants and crying for a lawyer if that ever happened.
Also I think the term "pop off" has a very different, and disturbing definition in the porn world.
In that case I feel sorry for his producer and anyone listening the next time he wants to "pop off"
{Radio off}

So glad I quit listening completely before John B made his appearance.  Check him out.  All 92 pounds of him.

That 'rebel without a cause' picture on the bottom might have been cool if he were 30 years younger and it were 1950.

In any case it's a pretty good show tonight.  I'm enjoying it more than any in recent memory.

I kind of like that JBW often doesn't take calls (or takes just a few) with his guests.  Really, George has attracted a lot of dumb people into the caller pool, so I would just as well not hear them.

The only thing they're good for any more is when you get someone really special like the old lady who thought that the Boston Bomber was an amputee veteran taking out his anger at people who still have legs.

I have to admit that enjoyed last night's show.  Leopold busted every far right cliche about Wall Street's looting of America that Wells trooped out, and he did it with hard facts and knowledge.  Shallow John grumbled some but couldn't challenge this guy.  Quite a contrast to the typical Wells guest who relies on conjecture and distortion.

I hope Knapp is back on this Sunday with a topic of a more paranormal flavor.  I'm getting tired of all these political, conspiratorial, voodoo economics, and topics of interest for aging hipsters that "I'm so cool, man" Wells favors. At least give us an intelligent host with a C2C-type topic of old a few times a month.  We have to endure Noory 5 times a week, sometimes more, and not enough times less, topped-off with Wells on Saturday.   If Knapp is gone, C2C is completely finished for me.  "Turn out the lights, the party's over...."  :'(

I AGREE WITH YOU 100%!!!!  Who gives a #@$!#$!#@ about HEDGE FUNDS?   Hell, I'd rather listen to a program about HEDGE HOGS!  I didn't listen at all last night........yawn :-X .......soooo boring.  Frankly, the marijuana program started to bore me too, but I must admit it was better than last night.
Coasters do NOT want to listen to financial programs in the middle of the night.  If you have enough money to play the market and concern yourself with being screwed by BIG COMPANIES.....then, I suggest you listen to Neil Cavuto on Fox News.....he's available twice a day.

Maybe I'm an aging hipster but quite honestly I enjoyed the program.  It was not about how to use financial instruments.  It was about how and why the financial collapse happened in 2008, why so many are screwed over with not being able to find work, and why nothing has changed.  It was well presented and clarified a lot of things for me.  I can understand how that might not interest some, but it was real stuff that everyone needs to be aware of.  The issues it got at are some of the most important facing America right now.  At the risk of beating a dead horse, if Coast to Coast has ever presented anything legitimately relevant to your future, this is it.

Juan

As others have said, I listen to Coast for something different - be it paranormal, whacky callers, or even sNoory making a fool of himself.  I hear enough politics during the day.  That said, I don't know that any other show could have done justice to this subject.  It's long and convoluted and needs the long format Coast offers.  I enjoyed the show despite Wells' difficulties formulating questions.

I'm with you.  I want some alternative entertainment in the dark of the night.  I don't care if FrankenBong was on with Bernanke. It's like pairing-up Jethro Bodine with Alan Greenspan.  Gag.... :P   I guess if I want a nightmare every night, I just need to turn on C2C.  :o

Agreed!  Love the reference to Jethro Bodine...........maybe we could throw Wells into the CEMENT POND!

I guess we won't agree on this but this program was exposing things Bernanke or network media isn't likely to talk about which from my viewpoint is what the program was designed to do.  Most guests go completely off the deep end but this all sounded legit and well researched.

What I liked most about the old Art Bell programs is that he dealt with such a wide array of subject matter.  The paranormal was in there, but so was mysticism, science, current events, conspiracy, environment, and just plain unusual tales.  Much of it was fraudulent or fear mongering, but there were good shows in there too -- something for everyone -- and Art was able to make it interesting.  Now its just the same old recycled guests telling the same unsubstantiated stories and making the same tired accusations most of the time.  At least that's how George makes it feel (sorry, I don't mean to hijack a Wells thread with references to Noory.  Wells can be equally or more torturous for different reasons).

Art could interview a rock and make it interesting.  Wells is too busy making love to his voice and tangling himself up with his spaced-out, self-important verbage.

Weee doggies!!!  I think Uncle Jed would take a hankering to that.  ;D

Wells did the open lines good. Both my husband and I listened to the first two hours. I thought it was good. The idea here is the guests and the Saturday ones were like the old days when Ian Punnett had some kind off book to talk about. I was sleepy after the first two hours and turned off my radio.

OldTimeRadio

Tonight's show..."TBA"/open lines.  TBA?  Is that a regular classification?  I haven't been to the Coast site much so I dunno.

MTB

Wow...did anyone hear how he pronounced Senator Inhofe's name?

To Be Announced.  They hadn't booked a guest yet.

Wells has Gerald Celente as his guest tonight.

MTB

And the guest they booked was Gerald Celente. I doubt I'm staying awake for that.

I hope you meant carrying a crazy sign, because the mental image of Gerald Celente in a miniskirt and fishnets was something I did NOT need.

OldTimeRadio

Thanks guys- I just looked up this guy and it looks like he's got a bigfoot rating of zero.  This guest all politics?  Ugh.  I happily fell asleep last night listening to some Scottish paranormal show on YouTube, hearing about the cored out anuses of mutilated cattle.
