Gulf Stream Slowing down?

Even though im an American, I live in the UK, iv lived here for 5 years, over the last 2 years we here in britain have seen below average temps, most winters the high is 45 F and 35F for the low, thanks to the gulf stream we are not as cold as norway. Now we are seeing highs not getting out the the frezzing mark, and lows in the low 20s, as I write this there is a blizzard outside, its about 23F and everything is frozen, this has been going on for about a month now, I mean most of the UK is white, lol. and Im thinking back to a person that was on c2c am about three years ago who was talking about the gulf stream slowing down due to the ice melting in greenland, and that was adding fresh water to the gulf stream.I told everyone 3 years ago that the gulf stream was going to slow down, and that we would see more blizzards and colder temps in the winter here in the UK, everyone though I was just a know it all, these same people are know stuck on the highways calling me up saying how did I know, lol.

Then where will Dexter dump his bodies?

The North Atlantic current has not stopped and has not shown any detectable long term slow down.
Right now, most of the studies have been focused on the southward flow as it is known that the Atlantic's salinity level affects the rate of the returning northern flow. Salinity studies alone are not the only factors although primary in nature and do not take into account tidal and wind forces. These studies have varied using space and airborne topographic mapping of ice melt/build up from the USA and new ocean surface arrays from the UK.
There is a great amount of variability when it comes to the function of the Earth's thermohaline circulation which is just one of the fundamentals to Earth's climate system. What has been observed fits into the normal cycle of the Earth's climate history within the last 110,000 years or so as we understand it at this time. Although I'm current in my fields of study concerning climate, it would take a century or more for any global group of scientists to fully understand all the functions of this planet's climate.
It should be noted that there was a 300 year span called The Little Ice Age [1500 to 1800 approx] that witnessed temps very low indeed. 10 to 20 degrees C lower in as little as a decade in it's onset. This was preceeded by The Medieval Warm Period from about 950â€"1250. A time when Icelandic Vikings settled in Greenland. These two events alone have generated much debate. I believe they may be fundamental to our understanding of climate cause and effect.
We know such changes have happened in the past and they will continue to happen on into the future. Considering the disconsolate revelations concerning past climate science summarized from a discredited IPCC and it's contributive working groups [I speak of the data code and not the emails], this science has been set back decades IMHO.
At this point I can only suggest what humans as a species have always done.... adapt.... move.... or get religion.  8)

You didn't hear it from me, but the market for the lease or sale of old attack submarines is on the rise.  ;D

And a Dexter fan too! I don't have cable, so didn't even know Dexter existed until I saw season 5's guest-star interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel, which piqued my interest. I found all previous episodes from DVD on The InterWebz, so I told my family about it, and sent them the episodes via AIM - now they're hooked too. I REALLY hated to see Rita die. I think that was a mistake  :(

I'm hoping Lumen will make a comeback next season.

Yeah. I liked this past season but I wish they would've tied up the loose ends about the Fuentes brothers (what happened to the other one, and why were they killing people?) and more about Trinity. Because for all the police know, he is still out there. Maybe next season at least Deb will piece together Dexter being Kyle Butler. We shall see! It is one of the best shows I've ever seen, though.
