OK: At last, the 3D technology thread

      This thread is intended not for a debate over the artistic or other merits of 3D, but rather to solicit input from those who have knowledge of existing and emerging 3D technology of any kind.

       For example, I just invested in nVidia's 3D "starter kit", as it were, consisting of the necessary software and drivers for my nVidia graphics cards, and the stylish wireless 3D glasses and wireless transmitter which, according to the reviews from owners of this kit that I read, will enable me to play WoW and watch 3D movies and such in 3D. I realize this is only a beginning, limited in its capacity, but it is a start. An entree.

       And perhaps that's a good place to begin a discussion: How those wanting to gear up for 3D can do so in an intelligent and informed manner, consistent with emerging tech, without spending a fortune on 3D monitors or what have you which range from unaffordable to unnecessary to soon to be obsolete anyway. Sane, gradual, sensible encroachment into the 3D world for the average joe on a budget.

         But please, let fly with anything you know. One last thing: Puerto Rico is an island. Just thought you might want to know.
