hello fellow haterz
its bin a long time, i shouldnt have left you, without leaving a little note to say where i was - i think thats how it goes.

anyways, i bin learning italian, planning my escape, and a few other things along the way.

now to the boring stuff.
can anyone provide me with a decent little mp3 player for my currently in construction website? it needs to be able to play two or three mp3s, and have a volume and title bar, as well as a stop button. i am absolutely baffled when it comes to code and all that, i can have a go at butchering someone elses but i cant seem to find any good ones out there.

please help me, you are my only hope....

I wrote and offered him a JavaScript based one - this is a very simple version: http://althea.cs.umass.edu/TMurray/jvInterview.html

It can look fancier. Flash and JS each has their advantages - depands on your page layout and your audience mostly.

That said - wanna talk to ME about that player? ;

doesn't that player you linked to require that the user have WMP installed on their system?

No- it actually will choose your default browser's player. It is designed for WMP - (size and such) becuase it's the largest. But, as I understand it (and this better be true cuz I've put it on a sight were people use ALL KINDS of things)

If JS is disabled - it will automatically give you a link to download the MP3 - which you can avoid by omitting the <noscript> part of the code. If you do - the viewer just gets "please enable javascript" just as with flash, it tells you to DL the media player.

my use of it has been very simple.

i see you have to pay for that player. as this is the internet i wasnt expecting that.... is it worth paying for? is the other one that Ev proposed worse, same or different (ie do you have to pay for it).

The one I posted is free. It does require a little configuration. If that's a problem for you - I can help. I'm not a JavaScript wiz - but this script and i became friends recently.

dan, i would definitely try free first, and then go from there. you should probably give ev's solution a shot first and see if it meets your requirements.

sorry, i keep going awol for long periods, i got a lot of shit piling up at the moment and im not bothering to deal with it, just running running running running, well you know what they say, cant keep running away, so i want to get on with a few things, including this website thing. how do i install this player Ev, what do i need to know?
