An old friend of mine, ex Royal Marine, told me ex servicemen are fifth class citizens. As over there, the UK MOD has a shameful attitude to military personel when they're not fit.

Hopefully this will change in both our countries.  A minor thing but the local radio station used to have a fund-raiser for "pre-paid phone cards" for troops deployed or stationed over-seas. I called in and was WTF. This is total bullshit. With our military budget and modern technology our people need to personally pay to call their family back home?

We have a charity called 'Help for Heros'. Basically pays for rehabilitation, pays for prosthetic limbs etc. The being charged to call overseas when on active service is a disgrace.
