FOUND ONE!!

this site ROCKS:
http://coast.gmms.ca/#page_home.html

You can download (or stream) shows by a given date, broken up by hour (so if you only want the last 2 hours of show X on whatever day..)

:)

I'm looking for sites that archive old coast to coast shows --

ALSO - a few years ago I had a link to a little page that had something like 6+ CDs (or dvds?) available for download that were the motherload collection of Coast to Coast archives - like years worth -

Alas - I no longer have any of these links.. but now i can burn the hell out of these files once I find them again so PLEASE PLEASE someone link me!

thanks in advance,

Yog-Sothoth, Neblod-Zin, etc, Ia Cthulhu, ad nauseum,

AS LAURIE ANDESON(OR WAS THAT BURROUGHS?) ONCE SAID..."LANGUAGE IS A VIRUS". SPREAD THE WORD.[/quote]

It was Burroughs.

Anderson just turned it into a "song". sort of. A

Incidentally - the report about Art's estranged children is here: http://www.philadelphiaweekly.com/articles/14998
It isn't exactly uplifting, but it doesn't make me "hate" Art or anything.
We all have skeletons in the closet and I for one did plenty of selfish and stupid things when I was in my early 20s (like marrying young and for the wrong reasons).

Sometimes I think Art has found this site and really gets a kick out of it. A man like himself would obviously know that GN is not qualified to take his position, humble as he may be.

I dunno.. As lowbrow/funny as this site is, Art strikes me as the type of guy who might think this is in poor taste. I mean, he's not exactly a part of our sarcastic X generation - he's from a time when being respectful was just a given.. But who knows. I suppose if he saw it more as Pro Coast to Coast (as far as the original format of the show, with Art) more than Anti-George/Namecalling/etc then he'd probably like it.

Thora Birch.

Actually - you don't even need to answer the question. I just love any excuse to post this picture of her...

I'm usually playing Phoenix Wright or Advance Wars, but I'd love more puzzle/adventure/survival horror type games for it.

You may like Dementium: The Ward. I picked up a copy of it on sale for 12 bucks, normally its about 20 - tho I've seen cheaper used ones on Ebay.

I haven't completed it yet, but its a first-person-shooter kind of game where you wake up in an abandoned mad house and piece together clues as to why you're there. You encounter zombies and other creatures, including hordes of flesh eating roaches and creepy ghosts in the children's wing.. It's pretty fun. ;)
(i've run across a lot of videos of the game play in youtube - just search for "dementium the ward ds")

Years ago I used to have a PC game called "The Drowned God". A typical tag line for this game would go, "What do JFK, the Holy Grail, alien abductions and the tarot have in common?"

It was a fun puzzle/exploration game along the lines of Myst..

Are there any good current games that follow these themes?

If you have a review I'd love to read it.

*Especially* if said game is available on Nintendo DS.

i don't think george even hosted for the first time until around 2000.

Well cool - that narrows it down to 6 shows.. It wasn't the 2007 Ghost to Ghost so it has to be 2001-2006..

for that matter..

Being without internet at home, for the time being, I can only get my Art Bell doses via Streamer here at work. I have a few mp3s on an old ipaq but not enough to survive on. If someone would be interested in burning some archives onto dvd or cd for me I would pay for the disk/shipping.. PM me if interested.

i found this in the chat interface from a stream listener using the Streamer program.  i have no idea what date this show aired, but this is an exchange between art and a caller...

caller: a clown appeared in the door.
Art: a clown?
caller: yes.
Art: You should be calling George with this.

HAHA i wish i could know which show the listener was hearing this on so i could hear this exchange for myself.

It was one of the Ghost to Ghost shows.. Mid 90s? can't remember :( Next time I hear a good quote in there I'll make note of the show date.

On Friday the 25th George was "interviewing" a guy who was talking about creatures of myth and legend. I only caught part of the show.. I tuned in during a very lengthy (and intelligent) monologue by this guy, who happened to be speaking with an Irish accent. At the end of his lengthy discourse, George's only comment was, "Now. Tell me about leprechauns!"

It was the funniest thing I'd heard all day.

It reminded me of that scene in The Meaning of Life where the board of directors are being told what the Meaning of Life is, and after the explanation, one of them goes "now what was that about hats?"..

so sad..

i again would like to mention, for those of you who would like to share shows, you can easily do so through YouSendIt.com

That said, anyone hint hint with that RAW interview, I'd love a PM/sendit link ;)

The main stuff I don't like that Art covers are the religious themed shows (ie Who or What is God? Reincarnation, asscended masters, etc) - I like when he interviews the God Particle guy (and the like), but that's more along the lines of hard physics than soft religion..

By far my favorites are the kook science ones and Old School Conspiracy stuff.

Actually, as far as religion goes, I do enjoy that Giants guy - but he seems to be more a guest of Noory than Art. I actually bought all his Giant books last year (on a whim). They were interesting.

Bigfoot = Tired
Chupacabra = Wired

Philadelphia Experiment, Time Travel Theory, M. Kaku, EVPs -- totally rock.

There was a great show a while back, I don't remember if it was Art or not - but the guest was this guy ranting about the horrors of drinking milk, which he called Cow Pus. He had me convinced for about 24 hours that I should never drink milk again, it was such a wonderfully gross show :)

Has Art ever interviewed Robert Anton Wilson?

a comic book guy?  you have got to be fucking joking.

I missed that one -but being a comic book guy myself, I might have enjoyed it. There's plenty of comics that deal (intelligently) with the subject matter that made C2C famous:

the Invisibles (by Grant Morrison)
Hellblazer By various authors (most notably Allan Moore of Watchmen/V for Vendetta fame and Preacher's Garth Ennis)

there's plenty more but I'd rank those two at the top.

I guess Hellboy has some merit at the top as well. Mike Mignola does a good job of researching secret societies, rumors of Nazi Occult connections and exploring true fairy tales (the dark kind, not the watered down Disney versions).

Anyway - I've heard way worse completely irrelevant guests on C2C. I especially hate when they have on an old random singer or movie star who has absolutely nothing to say about conspiracies or the paranormal.

The show with Shatner was good, even tho it was irrelevant.  Shatner always cracks me up when he's a guest on Howard Stern (and he seemed painfully aware that Noory didn't put much thought into the interview).

Archive of Old Threads / George looks like
July 22, 2008, 09:18:36 AM

A year ago I posted (on the coast to coast LJ) a better comparison between Miss Piggy and George - both black and white photos (using the original stock photo of George over at Coast 2 Coast), but I can't find the black and white pic of Piggy I used before.

Still, if nothing else, you can see the amazing similarities in their eyes.

Maybe one of you can find the better Noory/Piggy pics. I've wasted too much time at work this morning looking for them ;)
