Truth in that, for sure.  I was only 2 years old then and only remember Bobby Kennedy's funeral.  My parents were not very political at that time and also liked the Kennedys.  That changed with time.  I was up in the North Carolina mountains last week and avoided news like the plague.  I want to go back there now and just say fuck it.

No, so far I have not heard anything about Stone Mountain this go-round but I'm trying not to watch much local news so I might have missed the story.  These rioters are no better than Isis with their desire to destroy art and history.  I'm fed up.  The problem with accepting the toppling of statues of  Lee, Jackson, Nathan Bedford Forrest and the like.....these were people with tremendous flaws but some also did a tremendous amount of good and redeemed themselves after the Civil War....... is that it inevitably leads to the toppling of statues of Jefferson, Washington, Churchill. and others.  The whole thing is a slippery slope.  I'm really pissed off.


Another thing, since when it is ok to shame people to adopt beliefs that in their heart of hearts they don't believe in.  This is supposed to be a country where people are allowed to express their opinions without being crucified.  I hate social media.

George Floyd was murdered and I definitely want to see the cops involved prosecuted and while I agree Black Lives Matter so do Red, White, Asian, Venusian etc.  The organization called Black Live Matters is evil. I'm sick of the governors (mostly Democrat)  doing nothing to bring law and order to their respective states and cities. Law and order needs to be restored.  Protesting is fine but destruction is not.
